Highway Department has started

program is to be successful.
Plastic bags holding leaves are
. not to be placed on thecmij for
pickup except on the''day set
aside. , . . •
Extra large and heavy duty -
plastic bags may be purchased at
Village Hall at 10 bags for $1.75,
~ on weekdays between 8:30 am
and 4 pm. .
The schedule for bagged leaves
pickup is as foDbws:
- Monday - Northwest (Sunrise
Highway north to the Village
Line, North Main Street west to
the Vfllage'Line); JTuesday -
Southeast; (Sunrise Highway
south to the Village LInerSouth
Grove Street east to the Village
line); Thursday - -Northeast
(Sunrise Highway north to the
Village Line, North Main Street
east to the Village Line); and
Friday - Southwest (Sunrise
Highway south to the Village
line. South Grove Street west to
the Village Line),
. The , program, by Highway
Department personnel, uses
packer trucks. The Sanitation
Department will also pick up
bagged leaves on Wednesdays,
not over four bags per home.
The woman, Robin Campbell of
TJay Street, allegedly solicited
Freeport Police Officer John
Westenriann, who was in ^ plain
clothes, at il:30 pm., September
26, on the corner of Jay Street and
Grand Avenue. Informed she was
under arrest, a straggle began
and the officer was punched and
bitten.-The~woma'n thenbroke-
. free and escaped. Officer
Westermann was taken to Lydia
E. Hall Hospital, where he was
treated and released.for con-tuisions
of the face and a bite on
the forearm.
Acting on information received
from the 28th Precinct of the New
York City Police Department,
Nassau First Squad Detective
Michael -O'Connor and Freeport
Detective- Claude Tristram
arrested Campbell who was
.arraigned at First District Caait
last week.

A GOOD SCOUT. Frecporter Raymond Rowan, Sr., (tecond from
i.) of Pino Sueet, was one of only ten leaden in the Nassau County
Council, Boy Scouts of America^ to be honored at the Annual-
Recognition Dinner, October 21, with a Silver Beaver. The award b
the highest to be bestowed t;y a local Boy Scout Council and is pre­sented
for Distinguished Service to boyhood. Rowan's wife, Edith,
