•FREEPORT — A Committee on Lahdlord-Tenarit Relations was^
appoint^, at Monday, night's Village Board meeting; by Mayor
William White. The Committee, first suggested In February, would
be the second such committee In Village history. The first, organized
in 1969, was disbanded in 1973.
The new committee would act
as a mediating body in disputes
between "apartment tenants and
.their'landlords in an attempt to .
resolve difficultira,-without • the
imposition .of rent control,
legislation." Landlord^ appointees

The students will leave Freeport
in caravans of three buses, each
group departing on a different
day. This - will allow smaller
. groups to see everything with
relative ease.
This is the second Bicentennial
excursion planned for Dodd
Junior. High School students.
Recently, 700 of tliem visited a
Long Island theater to see a
special, showing of the film
"1776." •
BOY SCOUT DOINGS. A spedai Scout neckerchief was presented
this past Friday evening (top photo) to Mayor William Whits' jr.) by
Scout Gary Jackson who conceived the idea of a scarf to be worn by
Freeport scouts, to demonstrate their prids in thier Village. The light
blue scwf, bearing the words "Freeport, The Fishing Capitol of tha
World, Troop 454, Freeport," has a pictura of a fishing boat and
sailfith and was drawn by artist Jim Balltiack (second from 1.). Each
Freeport scout will own one as Troop 454 has purchased 200 of
them. Shown with the group is Charles Jackson, Troop Committee
Chairman (I.). The troop also received their Bicentennial Flag
{bottom photo), presented by Paul Schuckman to Scotitmaster
Angelo Farrugio. Pictured in bottom photo are (I. to. r.) John
Chonowski, Adjunct, American Legion; Ken Combs, Commander,
American Legion; Schuckman; Farrugio; and Mayor Whita. •
