FREEPORT - The village b considering! intteased parking foj the
Freeport Mall (Central Business District) area, THE LEADER learned
this week. Although the matter was removed from this Monday night's
agenda, the Board of Trustees did enter into some discussion of the
question of directing the Mall's architect to prepare plans and specifications
for the expuiion of Park-'

Swim Team Sweeps Meet, Agdin I
FREEPORT - The Village Recreation Center swim team swam their
way to another dean sweep victory last Friday during the Nassau
"County Swim (ConfenSace Divi^n IV.championsbip niect. The Free-port
Sea pevUs massed 209 points'to beat back second place Cantalgue
withtheir 183 points.' O&et teams entered in the meet were Christp-pher

In existence only three years
and hampered by a lack of team -
members in the 15 to 17 age category,
the Sea Devils nevertheless
ended their 1977 season undefeated
-r- champs in the Division's
Dual meet, possessors of
one gold and .two silver medals,
and now overall champs of Divi-
. sion IV. Their iniprfciistve recbnT^
will see them moved up to Division
in placement next summer.
At the Friday, August 19, meet
three Sea Devils broke records
they had previously established in
the Division. Jackie Bade, holder
of a gold medal and swimming in
the girls 11 to IX year old class,
did the 100-yard freestyle in
1:02.1 Kieman MoUoy, in the
' boys nine to 10 year old class, did
the SO-yard badtstroke in :40.K
The third record-breaker -was
• Clare Dunkle, vyho backstroked
her way to a first with a time of
1:16.4.

THEY WON AQAINI The Conference.trophy was prMorTtedty village
Mayor William White (r.) to the Recreation Sea Devils who again won
a Division IV CfiAfTPlONSHlP, For the second time In two weeka, the
Recreation Center swim team beat back all competition, as this past
Friday they took the Nassau County Swim Conference Division IV Dual
Championship. Accepting the trophy, on behalf of their team, are (I. to
r.) Coach Dennis Et>erhart, Tommy O'Brien and Jackie Bade. Bade
brought home a gold medal and O'Brien two silvers from the Conference's
Class A Meet. Next season Freeport's three year old team will
move up to Division ill by virtue of their undefeated 1977 season.
