FREEPORT - In a 3-2 vote, the
Freeport Board of Education has
chosen Jim Parola to serve as its
president for this coming 1978-79
year. Parola. a resident of North
Long Beach Avenue, was first
elected to the Board in 1977.
Sara Holly, who was re-elected to
the Board of Education for. a
• second three year term this year.

FREEPORT - The village's sign
ordinance, passed into law last
October, received its first appeal
last Monday night as a Freeport
businessman, asked the Village
Board to reverse a decision of the
Architectural Reviw Board.
Created by the new ordinance.to
regulate signs in the village, the
Architectural ^Review Board had
ruled that the two signs of
