the colors'and all assembled
at the flagpole as Mr. Vetter raised
the flag that draped the coffin of
his son when the body was returned
to Freeport, which he has given to
the post. The Rev. Dr. Reginald H.
Scott, rector of the Episcopal
Chureh of the Transfiguration, of-fered
the dedicatory prayer. As the
Flag was lowered, WUUs Johnson
souaded taps. While Stephen Koslo
gave the echoing call. The exercises
ended exactly at 11 o'clock.

The Veterans' Day dance given by

At 11 o'clock a brief service In observance
of Armistice Day was conducted

" The Freeport High School football
season will be brought to a
close Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock
with the traditional game against
Baldwin at the Muhtcipal Stadium.
The Bed Devils are hoping to win
the contest, as a victory would give
them an even break for the season,
a record of.^four victories and-^us
many defeats. On the other liand,
BaJdwta has ..won but twice, tost
four games and tied one.
The Band Mothers Club is to
give a luncheon for the members of
the Baldwin High School band in
the school cafeteria before the
game.
This will be the 31st annual meetr

30 games played previously, the

Freeport Bank MaUs
Christnias Checks Early
W. Sargeant Nixon, vice-president
and cashier, revealed this week that
the Freeport Bank mailed out Its
Chilslmas Club checks on Monday,
a week before the usual time. In
a move to stimulate early Christmas
buying and general business In the
village.
The Freeport Bank had $176,000
in 1,900 Christmas Club accounts
and Mr. Nixon said he believed this
amount of money reltia^ed to residents
of Freeport and vicinity would
be felt in the retail district.
A year ago the Freeport Benk
had $135,000 in 1,400 accounts.

the Nazarene gave the address at
the annual Veterans' (formerly Armistice
I Day service conducted by
William Clinton Story Post, American
Legion, ill the Municipal Building
