The h"brary's Board of Trustees has announced that it lias contracted
with Plushnick/Tsue, an archlleclural firm, to proceed with the work of
removing barriers to the haniUcapped that exist at the library.

use by the handicapped, as well

the week beginning Monday,
July 2.
A Smith Street couple were '
asleep in their bedroom Wednesday,
July 3, at 1 am, when — the
woman later told police — the
wife awole to obsen-e a wlitle
man, in. his early 20's, in the
room. She screamed and he ran
down the stairs. When (he couple
followed him down, (hey found.a
Parker pen on the.floor and the
screen pulled off the window. No
loss was determined at the time of
the police repprt. .-_:
About iin hour later, a SouUt
Brookside man heard his house
alarm sound. Checking, be found
a window op$n, the screen removed,
and the sliding glass door
open. . . . .
Another hoiir later, at about
3 am that same Tuesday, on
Lexington. Avenue, (tie house's
occupant heard a noise and taw. a

house. .Checking, the resident
found the front door open and a
side window screen cut. Ten dollars
was missing from a pocket-book.
On Wednesflay, July 4. at
about 11:1S pm, a Prince Avenue
couple were In their beditxim
when they observed a young male
black looking through the room's
door. The couple screamed and
(he suspect ran out. Upon invesU-gatlon,
a rear window was found
open.
The next day, Thursday, July 5,
two incidents were reported. In
the first, on Delaware Avenue, a
