THE FREEPORT FIRE DEPARTMENT
held It 19th Annual Fire Expo on the Nautical Mile. One of the highlights of the Expo was the department's Marine Unit, '.vhich is responsible for the Underwater Search and Rescue Squad and uses a 2006 26-foot Boston Whaler (left) with a 450-horsepow-er engine. The boat is equipped with state-of-the-art electronics such as radar and GPS as well as being equipment for medical emergencies. The boat is also used a platform for the divers of the dive team.
