Bethpage Fire Department Tactical Rescue
Team Called to Assist in Roof Collapse
On July 27 the Bethpage Fire Department (TRT team) Technical
Rescue Team was called to a roof collapse of an underground basket-ball
court that was under construction on Meadwood Lane in Brookville
by the Jericho Fire Department.
Prior to their arrival both victims were removed from the 40 foot hole
they fell into when the roof they were on collapsed.

ARE YOU READY FOR Summer Festival 2011?!
This weekend, August 4,5 and 6, the Bethage Chamber of
Commerce will once again be sponsoring their Annual
Summer Festival, and this year, not only was the festival
expanded to Thursday, but it is also being held at a new loca-tion,
adjacent to the location of last year's festival which cele-brated
the 100th Anniversary of the Bethpage Fire
Department. Moving to a new location was not an easy deci-sion
and it is a decision that is not etched in stone, so the
Chamber is giving it try to see how it goes and see what the
community thinks. Of course they will be featuring the same
great entertainment, food games and rides provided by
Newton Amusements.There will also be amazing flrewori<s
provided to the Chamber by Bay Fireworks on Saturday
evening. This year, however, the Chamber added some craft
vendors and they are happy to report that they will be featuring
over 40 booths from our local merchants. That's a record!!!
This event would never be possible without the support of
generous corporations who each year sign on to sponsor the
festival.The Chamber salutes their "Platinum Sponsor" the
Bethpage Federal Credit Union, who have undenvritten all of
this year's entertainment, including the Bay fireworks display!
In addition they sincerely thank Optimum, Northrop
Grumman and King Kullen Supermarkets, who are this
year's "Gold Sponsors." Without the generosity of these busi-nesses
this festival would not be possible!! Most of all the
Chamber thanks the entire community for their participation
and support! Special thanks is also given to the Bethpage Fire
Department, Nassau County Police Department, Town of
Oyster Bay and Nassau County for their help year after year!
There will be pay one price bracelets for the rides and
below there is a $10 coupon for sheet of 44 coupons.
Additional coupons can be found in many local businesses!
So get ready...it's new...it's expanded and it's here!!! Now
all the Chamber needs is a little help from Mother Nature!
