Turning Back The Clock
Almost 100 years ago, one
might have met Mary Ann
(Nelson) and husband
David Storm Jr., standing in
front of Number 15 Front
Street, East Rockaway, a
house still standing today.
The photo is from the collec-tion
of Aldine Kolyer, who
by Mildred Roemer
has sent many old photos to
the Grist Mill Museum.
Standing in front of the
same house in the fragil
photo are Warren Mott,
Grace Mott and David
Storm Jr. The families who
lived in the large house were
the Abrams (who was in the
oyster business) Storm
Mott.
and
Mrs. Kolyer writes "the
two trees on either side of
the gate were horse chest-nuts.
I used to enjoy playing
with the horse chestnuts as
a childo"
m
information that drivers
licenses were being issued
illegally and as a result of
bribes. An investigation by
our office, with the coopera-tion
of the State Depart-,
ment of Motor Vehicles
ended in today's arrest of the
defendant."
The District Attorney
said Riccardi would tamper
with the paperwork to con-ceal
the fraudulent licenses.
She would receive $75 to
$100 for each fraudulent
license she is&ued. She is
charged with three separate
instances; however, an
investigation is continuing
into other allegations.
