Lynbrooks Olympian Honored
At the Village Board
Meeting of November 7,
1988, Peter Zarba of Lyn-brook
was honored with a
Proclamation by Mayor
William P. Geier and the
Village Board upon Peters
return to Lynbrook from
competing in the handi-capped
Olympics in Seoul,
South Korea. Peter placed
fourth in the Table Tennis
competition. Congratula-tions

John R. Mulhern
John R. "Jack" Mulhern,
a native of East Rockaway,
N.Y., has been appointed
vice president and comp-troller
of R.J. Reynolds
Tobacco USA.
Before his appointment,
Mulhern was vice president
-finance and administration
of Planters LifeSave Co.
Reynolds Tobacco USA
and Planters LifeSavers Co.
are operating units of R.J.
Reynolds Tobacco Co., a
subsidiary of RJR Nabisco,
Inc.
Mulhern Joined RJR in
1976 as a financial analyst
for Standard Brands. He
was promoted to controller
of the Planters division of
Nabisco Brands in 1979 and
was named vice president/-
controller in 1982. Mulhern
was named vice president/-
controller of the Planters
LifeSavers division in 1985
and was appointed vice pres-ident
- finance and adminis-tratin
of Planters lifeSavers
Co. in 1987.
Mulhern earned a bache-lor
of science degree in
accounting from the State
University of New York at
Albany and a master of bus-iness
^ministration degree
from Fordham University.

USA manufactures and

Tryout for the 88-89 bas-ketball
teams are underway.
Both the coaches and play-ers
are happy about return-ing
to the courts and are
anxiously awaiting the start
of the new season.

homeless.
The Gifted and Talented
students will be going to see
the play, "The Miracle
Worker", on Nov. 29th. The
students are all looking for-ward
to the trip which is sure
to be a huge success.
Speaking of success, our
Brainstormers defeated
Farmingdale's team 85-35 in
Round 1 of the competi-tions.
The tem is made up
of Cap. Richard Meagher,
Andrea Greco, Jason Belkin
and Henry Zabarsky. Good
luck in future competitions.
The Band is selling citrus
fruits as a fundraiser to help
pay for their trip to Mont-real.
The fruit, oranges and
pink grapefruit, is being sold
m 20 lb. and 40 lb. crates.
Prices range from $9.25 to
$16.00 for the grapefruit and
$10.45 and $18.50 for the'
oranges. The fruit will be
delivered directly to your
home and comes fresh
straight from sunny Florida.
This offer ends on dec. 2nd

student now!
The yearbook is coming
along nicely. The first two
deadlines have been met and
thie editors are already work-on
meeting the next one.
