Where Is
The Goat?
by Mildred Roemer
The small boy who is
usually fishing in the Bay
Exhibit of the Grist Mill
Museum, was assisted'to an
area nearer to the farm
exhibit to try his hand at the
small plow. It was donated
to the Museum, several years
ago by Henry Torborg. John
Bishop, East Rockaway
High Schoolteacher is tight-ening
it up to be placed near
the Museum's full grown
farmer.
Years ago, children in
farm families were pressed
into service at a young age,
\ five or six year old would
steer a plow like this that was
usually pulled by a goat.
Sorry the Museum has no
goats.
