Brotherhood
In keeping with the spirit of
the community of East Rockaway,
and the national observance of
Brotherhood Week, the East Ro-ckaway
Kiwanis Club is estab-lishing
"The East Rockaway Ki-wanis
Brotherhood Award", to
be given to each religious school
in the Village to be used by
them as an incentive award to a
student in the school. This
award will be in the form of a
United States Savings Bond.
We would like to have each
religious school decide on what
basis to give this award, but
would suggest that some thought
be given to the spirit of cooper-ation
in' accordance with our
theme of Brotherhood.
We of Kiwanis, want to help
build a better and stronger un-derstanding
among our religious
brethern and trust that this small
effort on our part might be the
motivation for these yoimgsters
to go on and help build a better
place for all of us to live in.,

As a result of the high rate of narcotic addiction in our youth today, the South Shore Suburban
League has felt the need to alert the youth of Long Island of the ever-increasing problem of this
habit forming disease.
After many months of planning, the South Shore Suburban League is privileged to announce that
District Attorney Cahn will be the honored speaker at a buffet open to the young adults of Long Is-land.
Mr. Cahn will speak on the topic entitled "Narcotics and you". He will show his now famous
"Horror Kit", a box full of narcotic paraphernalia used by those unfortunates who are "Hooked".
A lively question and answer period will follow. This buffet will be held on Sunday, February 27th
at 1:00 P.M. at Temple B'nal Sholom, 100 Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre. A donation of $1.25
