Campaign Strategy
MASON L. HAMPTON, RIGHT, REPUBLICAN/CONSERVATIVE CAN-DIDATE
FOR CONGRESS, 5th DISTRICT, DISCUSSES THE ISSUES
OF THIS ELECTION YEAR AND CAMPAIGN STRATEGY WITH HIS
CAMPAIGN CHAIRMAN, HOWARD LEVITT, LEFT, OF MALVERNE.
Personalities
Annette Lin); ,
Aioert Hart, affectionately
known to all as «'A1" is the hard-working
Postmaster of the
Village of Lynbrook. A1 was born
in Brooklyn and moved here with
his parents in 1912, His father,
the late Mr. Michael Hart and

proud of the 9th Air Force Group
because of their wonderful "es-prit

He joined the Lynbrook Fire
Dept. in 1940 and served for a
good many years until 1958. He
became a member of the Lyn-brook

Mason L Hampton
Laumhes Campaign
in /Kalverne
Mason L. Hampton, Jr. can-didate
for Congress in tliis 5th
C o n g r e s s i o n a l District an-nounced
today that he was launch-ing
his campaign for the con-gressional
seat from Malverne,
Saturday, Sept. 7, 1968.
"This is my heartland," Mr.
Hampton stated. "The people of
Malverne have been my greatest
concern since we began together
the long, difficult struggle to pre-vent
the State Education monolith
from overwhelming tliis small,
valiant school district. I regard
the war as in progress; I con-cede
only that we have lost the
first skirmish. With the support
of the good people of Malverne,
I can win the congressional seat
and we must fight this at the fed-eral
level. I am confident of ul-timate
victory. Princeton Plans,
Allen Plans, and the best-laid
plans tend to fall apart when they
are contrary to the will and com-mon
sense of the people."
Mr. Howard Levitt, Republican
Leader, stated that the campaign
would begin at the Plaza In Mal-verne
at 11:00 A.M., Saturday,
Sept. 7th. After brief ceremonies,
there will be a motorcade from
Malverne to Lynbrook along
Hempstead Avenue to the Knights
of Columbus where the meeting
will convene.
"We are hoping for a great
turnout by the people of Mal-verne
who owe so much to Mr.
Hampton's courage in defying the
educational Goliath," Mr. Levitt
said, "and we are proud that Mr.
Hampton selected Malverne from
which to launch his victorious
campaign."

A1 is a quiet modest chap with
a keen wit and a love of a good
joke or story. He has an en-gaging
deep chuckle when some-thing
tickles him. He seems to
have a true genuine love of people
like the late Will Rogers and
claims that he also has never
met a man he didn't like. He
is a member of American Le-gion
Post #335 and is Past Com-mander
of the V, F, W. of L3T1-
brook. Post #2307, He is a mem-ber
of the Lynbrook Lion's Club,

He likes soft music and his
hobbies are golf and fishing when
he can find the time, A1 has been
a loyal member of the Regular
Deomcratic Club of Lynbrook
for many years. The main thing
about this fine quiet gentleman
is that he is a rare person who
makes and keeps friends because
he can only see the good side of
them with the most amazing tol-erance
of the frailities of human
nature and a love of humanity
inspite of them, A1 is one of
the 'good guys" in life witliout
going overboard about it and a
genuinely wonderful asset to Lyn-brook,
