the United States Army driving
or perhaps a better term would
be fighting with the rest of our
troops through Italy, France,
Belgian, and finally, Germany.
He was a member of the United
States Army Engineering Corps
and as everyone knows they were
often called upon to perform near
miracle of engineering feats to
help get the troops through.

Bob's main absorbing interest
is in the Lynbrook Fire Dept. and
(his leaves him little time for
personal hobbies, as the Captain
of a special .35 men squad on call

and ever on the alert. He holds
separate positions in the
department, being Captain of not

"Muzzling" A Mistake
Mayor Thomas L. Driscoll pointed out today that
the recently published legal notice setting out an
amendment of the Malverne Village Ordinance con-trolling
dogs erroneously contains a provision that
dogs be muzzled and leashed in the streets and other
public places in the Village, The requirement of
muzzling appeared in the old ordinance and was
inadvertently carried over in the preparation of the
amendment. Such provision should have read:
"No person who owns, possesses or harbors a
dog shall suffer, permit or allow such dog upon
any of the streets, avenues or public places of
the Village unless such dog is held upon a leash
at all times and in all cases, accompanied by
some person able to fully control it.*'
Action will be taken by the Village Board to
make the necessary correction.
