The first repiort on the planned
use of Federal Revenue Sharing
Funds has been filed by the
Village of Lynbrook. Required by
the U.S. Treasury Department,
the report covers funds received
or to be received for the period
January 1st to June 30,1973 in the
amount of $90,410.
Of this amount, $75,000. is being
used for Financial Ad-ministration
or, more
specifically, to help defray the
cost of the Village's contributions
to the N.Y. State R^irement
System. The use of thrfse funds
was a very^bstantial Tactor in

increase in its tax rate for the
year 1973.
The balance of the Federal
Revenue Sharing Funds in the
amount of $15,410, together with
the funds received for the 1972
period, has been earmarked for
an improved street lighting
program throughout the
residential areas of the Village -
a program which is presently
under intensive study by the
Board of Trustees and which is
expected to be implemented in
the near future. All Federal
Revenue Sharing Funds on hand
have been invested in Cer-tificates
of Deposit and are
earning interest while awaiting
distribution.
