Awards Presented In 30th
Annual Art Exhibition Awards were presented to the
prize winning artists in the 30th
Annual Membership Art
Exhibition of the Malverne Ar-tists
of Long Island, at a recep-tion
on Sunday, November 4, at
the Valley Bank of New York in
Green Acres, Valley Stream. The
exhibition will be open to the
public during banking hours now
through December 1.
The winning artists are - in Oil:
first prize, Reta Soloway; second
prize; Dorothy Schmidt; third
prize, Elina Maurer; honorable
mentions, Ben Borax, Stephan
Krusewski, Dorothy Foley. In
watercolors - first prize, James
Feriola; second prize, Marion
Brown; third prize, Elvera
Anderson; honorable mentions,
Thelma Lindroos, Ruth Homan
and Ann Perillo. Ruth Baderian
won the Grumbacher Award for
her floral painting, Dorothy
Stewart took the Portrait Award,
and Fumio Kino won the
watercolor Mc Intosh Award.

The Board of Trustees of the
Incorporated Village of Lynbrook
held a regular meeting at the
Village Hall on Monday, Nov. 5,
1973 at 8:00 p.m. The Minutes of
Oct. 15, 1973 were approved and
placed on file by the vote of the
lioard.
A communication from Rev.
Howard J. Crist, former
Chairman of the Narcotics
Commission who has moved to
accept a parsonage in up-state
New York was read by Mayor
Francis X. Becker who praised
the fine community service
rendered by Pastor Crist and a
Resolution of Thanks and ex-pression
of regret was also
mentioned by his honor. His place
will be taken by Rev. L. Lester
McGonagle of St. James United
Methodist Church of Lynbrook.
The week of Nov. 18th to the
25th was officially proclaimed as
National Bible Week by Mayor

Becker who also urged everyone
to read the scriptures.
Mr. Tom Greitzman of First
St., Lynbrook was sworn into
office as a new member of the
Board of Assessors.
Rov. C. Schult, a Pastor for
prisons and hospitals for many
years and a Lynbrook resident
was recommended to the Nathan
Hale Housing Authority as their
new spiritual advisor. The
Nathan Hale Authority must
swear him into office themselves
according to the lawful
procedure.
The Lynbrook Chamber of
Commerce was given permission
to bring Santa Claus into Lyn-brook
on Thanksgiving morning
to be followed by a theatre party
at The Lynbrook Theatre. The
Village will up their donation
because of increased costs to aid
the project if it is approved by

On November 3 the Lynbrook Cerebral Palsy Auxiliary held its
twentieth anniversary luncheon at the Steak Loft in Rockville Centre.
This delightful affair was chaired by Mrs. Ruth O'Neill. Mrs. Peggy
Becker was the raffle chairman. Dr. Mary Green of Valley Stream
was guest speaker.
It was an honor to have present Mrs. Martha Mott of Lynbrook and
Mrs. Millie Stark of Cedarhurst who were members of the original
auxiliary when it started twenty years ago.
