Lynbrook Restaurants Feature
Coffee Day To Benefit Children
Restaurants in Lynbrook are
perking with excitement about
EASTER SEAL COFFEE DAY,
to benefit crippled children.
Coffee Day buttons are being
offered to customers at these
restaurants in return for a one
dollar donation.
On Easter Seal Coffee Day,
March 13th, anyone wearing a
Coffee Day button will be served
free coffee at any participating
restaurant in New York City or
Nassau County.
All proceeds benefit the han-dicapped
who are helped by
Easter Seal programs.
The participating restaurants
in this community are: Friendly
Ice Cream Shop and Howard
Johnson Rest.

Selected Miss Long Island
Hofstra University student
Andrea Lisa, recently selected as
Miss Long Island, is representing
Hofstra and is a semi-finalist in
the nation-wide contest for
Glamour Magazine's Ten Top
College Women of 1974.
The 5' 7" beauty queen and
professional model has combined
an outstanding educational
record, expected to lead to two
degrees from Hofstra in June,

The Lynbrook Lions, long - time supporters of South Nassau Com-munities
Hospital, Oceanside, recently gifted the voluntary, non -
profit Oceanside hospital with $400. Lions President Reverend George

her work in public relations,
modeling, and acting while at-tending
Hofstra University,
Hempstead, New York.
Andrea Lisa, a graduate of
Malverne High School, started
her college studies at Univer-sidad
de las Americas, where she
was on the Dean's List and
president of the American
student group attending the
university. She established
Mesoamerican culture oriented
programs, including art and
excavation exhibits, on campus
and tutoring programs for non-
Spanish speaking students. She
also planned and coordinated
travel groups and student ex-cavation
groups outside of the
immediate Puebla area under
the direction of anthropologist
Alejandro Estrada.
She continued on the Dean's
List after transferring to
Springfield College, where she

with broad community in-volvement
in such varied areas
as Puebla, Mexico, Springfield,
Mass., and Nassau County.
She is the daughter of Hofstra
Vice President and Mrs. Luis E.
Dejarano of 87 Grove Street,
Lynbrook.

because of her outstanding
achievements in her an-thropological
studies at the
Universidad de las Americas,
Puebla, Mexico, her tutorial
Lynbrook Board Meeting

The Board of Trustees of the
Incorporated Village of Lynbrook
held a regular meeting at the
Village Hall, 1 Columbus Drive,
Lynbrook which was very
capably taken over by Boy Scouts
from many troops in Lynbrook,
Monday evening, Feb. 25, 1974 at
8:00 p.m.
Boy Scout Troops m , 285, 336,
85, 1515, 234 were represented
and among the Scout Leaders
Jay Jager, and Sigmund
Esposito. After the Salute to the
Flag, the Color Guard retired.
Mayor Brian McTigue, aided
by his actual counter - part,
Mayor Francis X. Becker did a
commendable job and presided
over the meeting aided by
Trustees Michael Mejo, Joseph
Sirica, Louis Gargano, Derek
Burns took the places of regular
Lynbrook Trustees, Lawrence
and Assistant Leaders were: Ted Florio, Bill O'Brien, Kurt Arndt,
McTigue, Troop 50, Joseph Bill Buzzeo with only Trustee
DeFillipe, Troop 285, Thomas Florio a bit delayed in arrival
Berghorn, Michael Berghorn, and all aided the Scout Trustees.
Corwyn Billard, Troop 336, A1 Richard Ricioppo took the place
Goldstein, Troop 234, A1 Zani, of Village Attorney Jay F. Korth,
Troop 1515, Robert Pogue, A1 Tony Turner alternated for
Kaufman Troop 85, and Joel Village Clerk, Joseph Vitelli,
Mines, Leo Hendricks, and Matthew Dougherty took the

The Energy Crunch
"The Energy Crunch" was the topic of discussion at the February
meeting of the Lynbrook Republican Club when an audience of almost
100 persons listened and asked questions of the panel of experts.
Robert G. Becker (left), club president, was the moderator, and
William Botwinik I center I, Executive Director of the Nassau Count*
Environmental Management Council; Dan Westigard of Shell Oil
Company, and Todd Dickel I not shown} of the Oil Heat Institute of
Long Island were the panelists.
