IN MEMORIAM: At left is a photo of firemen honoring their fel-low
firefighter, Michael Esposito (above), who died last week of
a heart attack suffered while fighting a residential fire in
Baldwin. The arch of honor was erected over Grand Avenue just
south of Sunrise Highway on Monday morning following a serv-ice
at St. Christopher's Church on Merrick Road. See page 5 for
more.

PARADE ORDERS
Monday, May 30
• All units will assemble at 9:30 a.m., at
South Brookside Avenue facing west at
the high school by respective divisions.
Head of parade will step off promptly
at 10 a.m.
Parade Coordinator: Ashley Karp
First Division: South Brookside
Avenue - veterans - elected officials,
Richard Barry, John Remsen, Coy
Richardson, Stephen A. Nicolino
Second Division: Lexington Avenue -
youth - David Cockerel, Paul Nehrich,
Robert Pachas
Third Division: Pine Street - adults -
Harold Murray, Richard Cromwell,
Calvin Andrews, John Selser
Fourth Division: Porterfield Place -
Fire Department - Chief Daniel Fee
The route of the parade is as follows:
south on South Brookside Avenue to
Merrick Road, then east to the Freeport
Memorial Library. All units give "eyes
right" at the library. Honored guests,
Gold Star Mothers and members of the
Daughters of the American Revolution
will assemble at Freeport High School at
9:30 a.m. to board vehicles for the start of
the parade.
For Gold Star Mothers, the Daughters
of the American Revolution, senior citi-zens
and the disabled, seats will be avail-able
on the lawn at the Freeport Memorial
Library. In the event of inclement weath-er,
the Memorial Day Services are sched-uled
to take place in the Freeport High
School auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Notice
of cancellation of the parade will be
announced:
1. On Cablevision Channel 12.
2. By a whistle at 9 a.m.
ONLY American flags and organiza-tion
flags or banners will be permitted.
Banners bearing slogans, etc., are strictly
prohibited!
