The first stop will be the fabled city of
Kathmandu, the capital, filled with
highly decorated temples, palaces,
monuments and a. diverse cultural
mix. Then on to a rural hill village with
its shaman, midwife and musicians
from the " untouchable caste." This
is an unusual adventure in a remote,
mysterious land.
On March 22 at 2: 00 P. M.
talented pianist Eleni Traganas who
has performed at Alice Tully Hall and
Carnegie Hall, will be at the library to
present a program entitled " The
Post- Romantic Composers of
Imperial Russia." In the music
centers of Moscow and St.
Petersburg during the final years of
the reign of Tsar Nicholas II,
composers reflected an atmosphere
brimming with the turmoil and
mysticism of the age. Scriabin, the
musical philosopher and
revolutionary visionary and
Rachmaninoff, the conservative
stabilizing force represent a clash of
ideals with coincides with the
downfall of an established order.
Music of these and other
composers, including Tchaikovsky
will be featured as Traganas
explores Russian piano music of the
late 19th Century. There will also be
an unusual slide show that ties the
fate of the Imperial family to the lives
of these musicians.

P. M. for another delightful and
informative slide/ lecture presented
by Art Historian Donald Dwyer as part
of the library's ongoing ART IN THE
AFTERNOON series. The program
is entitled " The Impact of
Caravaggio." Caravaggio also known

celebrated for the powerful realism
of his religious pictures. This is a
compelling portrait of a restless and
defiant artistic genius.

Visual Ground
The Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery
at Nassau Community College ( NCC)
is pleased to present Visual Ground,
an exhibition of paintings that
challenge the traditional concept of
landscape. The selected works will
be shown from Wednesday, March 9
through Monday, April 4. Included in
the exhibit are four emerging artists
who paint their personal
environment: Nicholas Cato- Evans,
Andrew Haines, Ron Milewicz and
Jennifer Morgan.

Footloose
The Stage Theatre invites you to
join in the fun as they present
" Footloose," the high- energy
musical story of a big city kid who
moves to a small mid- western town
and shakes up the status quo. It is
being presented from March 12th

The story centers on a young
" outsider from Chicago who moves to

town and win the girl in the process.
The musical revolves around
great 80' s songs including
" Footloose," " Let's Hear it for the
Boy" and " Almost Paradise." This
fast moving, high energy,
exhilarating musical will have
everyone tapping their feet to the
songs of the 80' s.

Tead Poisoning
In 2004, almost one'in every 100
children tested for lead in Nassau
County was diagnosed with
elevated levels of lead in his or her
blood. One child had such severe
lead poisoning that the child
needed to be hospitalized for
special therapy. Treatment in very
severe cases consists of medication
to remove the lead from the body. In
all cases, treatment includes dietary
changes, hygienic measures,
identification of sources of lead
poisoning and abatement of the
environment.
Even elevated levels of lead as
low as 10 micrograms per deciliter
can harm a child's developing
nervous system and may result in
behavior problems, learning
disorders, poor school performance,
lower I. Q., hearing loss, anemia,
kidney damage, or growth
retardation.
Breathing in lead dust or
swallowing lead- coated particles
causes lead poisoning. Small
amounts of lead are invisible and
odorless. Most lead- poisoned
children have no symptoms. Those
with severe lead poisoning may
have stomach cramps and may
develop convulsions.
The damage done by lead is not
reversible. However, lead poisoning
is totally preventable. It can be
avoided by identifying sources of
lead in the environment and
repairing, renovating or removing
them.
Homes built before 1978 were
painted with lead- containing paint.
Even if homes have been repainted,
repeated rubbing of one painted
surface against another ( such as
opening and closing windows and
doors) could expose old, lead-based
paint in homes. Worn,
cracked, or peeling lead- based paint
may cause lead poisoning,
especially in children.
Children have also been
poisoned from lead that is found in
certain cosmetics, including serma,
kohl, and red dye bindi spots and in
some imported medicines and
herbal remedies, including litargirio.
By law, children must be tested
for lead exposure at ages one and
two, and assessed annually until age
six by their health care providers for
exposure to lead. Children entering
day care or nursery school must
show proof of having a blood lead
test. The blood test can be obtained
from the child's health care provider.
In 2004, 40,473 children in Nassau
County were tested for lead
poisoning.
The Nassau County Department
of Health provides case
management services to parents of
all children with elevated blood
levels and inspects their homes to
identify the cause of lead poisoning.
It also provides educational,
preventive and nutritional
counseling about childhood lead
poisoning, inspection and
assessment of homes for lead
hazards and takes enforcement
action, when necessary, to ensure
hazards are abated.

Legislator Mangano Approves
Revised Property Tax Exemptions
For Volunteer Fire Fighters
Nassau County Legislator
Edward P. Mangano ( R- Bethpage)
sponsored legislation which revised
the 2002 property tax exemption law
for volunteer fire fighters and
emergency medical technicians.
Members of local fire departments
and ambulance corps who have
served for a minimum of five years
will receive a 10% exemption on
their Nassau County property tax. In
addition, members who have 20
years of service will receive this
exemption for the remainder of his
or her life. " The brave members of
our fire departments and ambulance
corps deserve to see real savings on
their Nassau County property tax
bill," said Legislator Mangano.
Due to a cap, the prior legislation
only allowed for marginal savings
due to a formula involving the local
equalization rate. As a result of the
cap, fire fighters who took
advantage of the exemption only
realized about $ 2.33 in savings.
" The intent of the legislation was
there, we just needed to work out
the details so our County's
volunteer fire fighters and
emergency medical technicians
could start seeing some real
savings," said Legislator Mangano.
The new legislation, which is
permitted by an amendment to state
law, removes the cap. Therefore,
department members with a
minimum five years service can
expect to save approximately
$ 167.11 on their County property
tax bill.
Currently, there are 3020
volunteer fire fighters and
ambulance technicians who applied
for the existing exemption, these
residents will not have to reapply to
receive the new level of exemption.
" The volunteer fire fighters and
ambulance technicians in Nassau
County provide a vital service to us
all. We should make every effort to
aid these lifesavers whenever
possible. I urge all residents
interested in becoming a volunteer
to contact their local fire
departments," added Legislator
Mangano.
Bethpage School District to
Host " No Child Left Behind
Parent Academy
On Saturday, March 12th
Bethpage; Union Free School —
District will host its first annual Parent
Academy, designed to teach
parents about the new assessments
mandated by the federal No Child
Left Behind Act. The Academy will
be held from 9: 15 a. m. - 12: 15 p. m.
at Bethpage High School and is
open to parents of Pre- K through
Grade 5 children.
Headed by District administrators
and educators, the day will feature a
series of workshops aimed at
explaining the No Child Left Behind
legislation, its impact on children,
and how Bethpage Schools are
preparing students to meet
requirements. Presenters will also
discuss what the community must
do to provide children with a 21st
Century education and insure
success.
Sessions offered to participants
include English Language Arts,
Mathematics,. Social Studies,
Science, Technology, Reading and
Services for Special Students.
An activity center will be provided
for parents with school age children.
The center will be staffed with PTA
volunteers, District teachers and
high school students.

New Island Hospital Gala
Honors Joseph Zorn and

New Island Hospital held its 5th
annual gala, " Escape to Paradise" at
the North Ritz Club located in
Syosset on Saturday, February 12,
2005. The hospital honored Peter
Salzer, M. D. founder and Medical
Director of the Hyperbaric Center at
the hospital, for his many years of
dedicated service. Mr. Joseph Zorn,
patriarch and owner of Zorn's Poultry
Farms was given the hospital's first
annual " Good Neighbor Award" for
his outstanding contributions to the
hospital and the Long Island
community. Rabbi Seth Gordon from
the Bethpage Jewish Community
Center gave the invocation. The
event raised $ 176,000 with 315
people attending. All net proceeds
will benefit the Emergency
Department expansion project. Mrs.

Emerald Isle will be showcased at
the Schoolhouse, the Layton Home
and the Noon Inn. Fiddle tunes will
be accompanied by traditional step
dancers; and period songs will be
performed on an 1860s parlor
organ, with accompaniment on
Celtic harp. Also featured will be the
Uilleann Bagpipes, also known as
parlor pipes. This traditional Irish
musical instrument differs from the
Highland Pipes so commonly heard
today. The Uilleann Bagpipes
produce a much softer tone,
suitable for indoor performances.
Familiar reels and jigs, along with
historically appropriate songs such
as Kathleen Movoumeen, The
Minstrel Boy and The Wearing of the
Green will be played in the spirit of
the Irish holiday.
Old Bethpage Village
Restoration, operated by the
Nassau County Department of
Parks, Recreation and Museums will
re- open for the season on
Wednesday, March 2, 2005, be
open Wednesdays through
Sundays from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m.
Admission is $ 7 for adults, $ 5 for
children ( 4 to 14 years), senior
citizens, volunteer firefighters and
ambulance corps, auxiliary police
and veterans. There is no charge for
children under four years of age.
Parking is free. The Village is located
on Round Swamp Road in Old
Bethpage, one mile south of the
Long Island Expressway, Exit 48.

You see the outline of a tall man
walking slowly down the street,
handing out lollipops to the
neighborhood children. Someone
says, " Good morning, Bill." He
waves back with his cane. You hear a
loud belly laugh. If you're lucky
enough, you may even be given a
shiny state quarter. Who is this man?
He is a giving father to his son
and daughter. He is a loving and
loyal husband to the love of his life,
" Joan Girl." He is a tease of a
" Poppy" to his 5 happy
grandchildren. He was a courageous
soldier in World War II, being
honored with the Bronze Star for his
bravery at Normandy in 1944. He is a
good friend to his old buddies that
he writes to in weekly letters. He is
even a bighearted and thoughtful
father- in- law. Is this every man? I
hope that it could be, but that is not
the real world. I wish all the children,
grandchildren, and people of the
world could be so lucky as to be
acquainted with or to love a man of
this caliber -- then they would be
inspired to become kinder, happier,
more generous, or more caring -
and our world would have better
husbands, fathers, grandfathers,
and friends.
Eighty years is a fairly long life
according to today's standards of life
expectancy for someone born on
March 11, 1925. The normal life
span of someone born in the 1920' s
is about 80 years. A baby born today
can expect to live to a maximum life
span of almost 120 years! So,
William Muldobn, ( also known as Bill,
Poppy, Dad, Chubbs) you have
fulfilled your scientific life
expectancy of 80 years this month!
Perhaps that is true because of your
diligent use of your cholesterol and
blood pressure medications.
Alternatively, could it be due to the
fact that you are loved and needed
by many?
As people age, they often lose
sight of their purpose in life,
becoming depressed and lonely. So
many wonderful older people stop
wanting to get dressed each day,
call a friend, go out for a walk, or do a
crossword puzzle. Everyone in this
world needs a purpose, a vision, a
goal, regardless of age. It does not
have to be as large as writing a book
or as significant as curing cancer, but
it needs to be there. Every idea,
action, or amazing act that we do
starts with a vision. Bill has a purpose
... a reason to wake up each day and
to carry on in his life. He is a
fundamental part of his family, his
neighborhood, his friendships.
Thanks, William Muldoon, for
living these 80 wonderful years and
sharing many of them with your
family. Thanks, William, for beina a
responsible son to your mother,
Maggie, and to your sisters, Betty,
and Margaret, for helping them
when your Dad died when you were
only 11 years old. Thanks, William,
for sending them your army
paycheck so that they could get by
in New York. Thanks, Billy, for going
off to war at only 18 years old, for
defending our flag in the 9th Infantry
Division, and for risking your life in
battle, so that we would all continue
to live in a " free" country. Thanks,
Mr. Muldoon, for being a cub- scout
leader in Bethpage for your son, and
then for another 10 years. Thanks,
Mr. Muldoon, for the shiny coin that
was a 1959 nickel, the year I was
born. How did you remember that
from the last time we spoke when I
was the waitress at your table?
Thanks Poppy, for helping to raise
your grandchildren Christian, Mike,
Terri, Will, and Christopher. Thanks
for the toys, crayons, and
McDonald's money we used first for
our Happy Meals and then later to
feed ourselves after a long day at
high school. Thanks, Poppy, for the
" gasoline bucks" and movie gift
certificates you give us so we could
have fun with our friends. Thanks for
never missing one of our school
concerts, plays and talent shows.
Thanks, Uncle Bill, for the
shimmering Connecticut quarters
my brother and I got in the mail last
week to add to our collections.
Thanks, Billy, for helping our
veterans place flags on the
cemetery plots of our brothers and
sisters each Memorial Day weekend.
Thanks, Dad, for cutting and
watering the lawn, putting out our
garbage, and for painting our
homes, both inside and outside.
You never complained that it was too
tiring, or that your arms hurt from
painting. You just sang along with
every stroke, every gallon, never
missing a spot on the ceiling or the
wall. Thanks, Dad, for always
remembering our anniversaries, with
cards and money so we could
splurge on a romantic dinner, when
there was no money in the budget
for special things like that. Thanks,
Bill, for adoring Joan, in sickness
and in health, for being a devoted
and loyal husband, never placing
any female ( celebrity or otherwise)
above her.
So, if you see this man eating in
the diner or at Bethpage Chili's,
buying stamps at the Bethpage Post
Office, standing in line at the bank,
or walking down his street on
Elizabeth Drive, slow down and
beep your horn, smile and say, " Hi,
Bill" or wave your hand. He'll smile-back...
and if you're lucky, he may
throw you a shiny state Quarter.

Winter Fun Run as the Runners
Edge Draws Record Crowds

and 300 runners crowded into the
Runner's Edge in Farmingdale on
Sunday morning, February 20 for
the annual Greater Long Island
Running Club/ Runner's Edge
Winter Fun Run. ( Hey, we ran out of
the complimentary gloves that go to
each participant - Runner's Edge
proprietor Bob Cook ordered 300
pairs! and wiped out the large pile of
bagels, doughnuts, etc. provided at
the finish much like General
Sherman's army marching through
Georgia, with nary a crumb left over!)
The crowd followed their Nassau
County Police Department escort up
Main Street, around to the left up
the hill and onto Round Swamp
Road, as the runners sorted
themselves out into 3 mile, 6 mile
and 9 mile runners. Back to the
Runner's Edge after enjoying the
brisk Winter morning, for the
granddaddy of all sales, and the
Door Prizes of a couple of very
snazzy gym bags - won by Larry
Finger and Doreen McDougall.

Another War Story
by Bud Rosch,
past commander
I was visiting Fall River,
Massachusetts and they have a
museum of a number of WW II ships,
mainly the ship named for the State,
the USS MASSACHUSETTS
BATTLESHIP.
Of course at the time my wife and
I wanted to go aboard and see this
great United States Battle ship.
They were working on it at the time
and only the top deck was available.
The public was not allowed to go
down to any other deck. There was
plenty to see on the top deck. In
fact, one of the turret's had a shell hit
it during the war. It was cut open like
a person opening a can of beans
even though the steel around it was
about 16" inches thick. I understood
that all were killed in that incident of
the shell hitting that turret ( that is all
the men in that turret). The officer in
charge was very informative as to
what the ship was made of such as
the deck. The deck was made of
wood.
We were impressed with all the
stories he offered and then came
this one. One of the men wrote in
and said he served on the USS
Massachusetts on a deck below. He
went on to tell us the letter received,
said the Sailor had cancer and it was
terminal and he would like to visit the
ship and see his old position on the
ship.
The story went on that a date was
made for the visit. When the old
sailor appeared he was piped on to
the ship. Though the area that he
was working was not ready yet he
was taken down to see his old
position. When he arrived topside
they had a ceremony for him and a
piece of the deck was cut out and
presented to him.
Unfortunately I do not know the
sailor's name and more details, as my
wife and I were just told about this on
our visit. What started as a resting
place for the USS Massachusetts
just the one war ship now has a
number of old war ships including a
submarine. I have not been up there
in a long time but I believe there
must be a number of these old ships
added. I think that if you would enjoy
seeing these " hero ships" to our
past, it will be very worthwhile. The
traveling time is only about three
hours. More particulars could be had
from the Massachusetts visitors
travel department.
Helpful Girl Talk Dished Out at
JFK Middle School
As the film " Mean Girls" pointedly
made clear, bullying among girls may
be less physical but is no less
devastating. That's something JFK
Middle School in Bethpage
understands, which is why the
school brought in Child Abuse
Prevention Services ( CAPS), Long
Island's leading organization
dedicated to preventing child abuse
and neglect, to begin a dialogue
with seventh- grade girls about the
problem of relational aggression.
A professionally trained
volunteer from CAPS met with 7th
grade girls at the school the week of
February 14th to present " What's
Up? Girl Talk," a program designed
to prevent relational aggression - a
form of bullying girls often employ -
by teaching them how to
acknowledge and validate feelings,
how to communicate directly and
how to problem- solve when
instances of relational aggression
occur.
" JFK Middle School deserves
credit for recognizing that it's not jusl
boys who engage in bullying," said
Alane Fagin, executive director of
CAPS. " The use of cutting remarks
or organized social ostracism can be
powerful bullying weapons for girls
in any school or neighborhood, and
that's a problem that needs to be
addressed."
Thanks in part to a legislative
grant from Senator Kemp Hannon
and the financial support of
concerned members of the
community, CAPS provides
student- targeted programs such as
" What's Up? Girl Talk" to schools
free- of- charge. CAPS relies on a
dedicated corps of volunteers to
present its programs, but Fagin says
the growing demand for CAPS'
services - the organization estimates
it will be asked to present programs
in nearly 1,500 classrooms across
Long Island during the current
academic year - means CAPS needs
more volunteers to join in it in
working together to keep every child
safe from harm.
Founded in 1982, the Roslyn-based
Child Abuse Prevention
Services is Long Island's
comprehensive resource center for
the prevention of child abuse,
bullying and peer harassment. It is a
non- profit organization underwritten
by private donations, grants and
legislative appropriations.

Running Club Meeting to Feature " Going Halfway"

TOBAY Triathlon.
The featured speakers at the
Tuesday, March 15 meeting of the
Greater Long Island Running Club
will be Steve Tarpinian of Wantagh,
champion swimmer and triathlete,
triathlon coach and writer, and
Josephine Piccinic of Bellmore,
marathoner, triathlete, coach and
cross trainer. Their topic: " Going
halfway" ( half marathon and half
ironman triathlon) and having fun
with cross training, dealing with how
athletes can prepare for half
marathons and Half Ironman
triathlons on a limited time schedule
( with work, family etc.), and can
utilize cross training as a way to
boost their running performance
and fun.
The meeting will be held at the
Plainview- Old Bethpage Public
Library, 999 Old Country Road in
Plainview, starting promptly at 8: 00
PM on the evening of the 15th. The
general public is most cordially
invited to attend.
Steve Tarpinian is the founder
and President of Team Total
Training, an international team of
more than 200 athletes, and the
creator of the online coaching
service Total Training University. He
is a former National level U. S.
swimmer, who has been a triathlete
since 1982, with hundreds of
successful finishes including the
Hawaii Ironman and nine other
Ironman Triathlons, and nine
successful finishes in the Xterra
World Championship.
Steve is the creator of the Swim
Power video that has been
distributed worldwide in both
English and German, and the author
of such books as The Essential
Swimmer and Water Workouts, with
his new book Swimming for
Triathlons due out in April of 2005.
Articles that Steve has written have
been featured in such publications
as Fitness Swimmer, Men's Health,
Swim, Inside Triathlon, Triathlete,
Metrosports, and Transition Times.
An accomplished Triathlon
Director as well as athlete and coach,
Steve is the creator of the three race
Long Island Triathlon Series, which
includes one of the oldest and most
prestigious multisport events in the
world - the Mighty Hamptons
Triathlon.
Steve's infectious enthusiasm for
the bport and his ability to bring out
the benefit of his expertise and
experience in terms that everyone
can easily understand and
appreciate, make him a great
speaker and one that everyone is
certain to enjoy!
Josephine Piccinic is an
accomplished athlete and Team
Total Training Coach, who will be
discussing cross training.
On Thanksgiving eve 1994,
Josephine was hit by a car while on a
training run, suffering a broken
pelvis, a broken femur and a
shattered tibia/ fibula. She spent a
week in intensive care, endured
several operations and the insertion
Of a plate and two titanium rods, and
couldn't even walk for 6 months after
the accident. Rehabilitating with
Steve Tarpinian and Aaron Mattes,
Josephine made a goal of qualifying
for the U. S. Olympic Trials Marathon
in 2000, even though she had
never previously run a race longer
than a half marathon. Although her
' 2: 55 time was a bit short of the 2: 48
qualifying time, she was satisfied
with her marathon accomplishments
and turned her focus to swimming,
and recently was awarded 2004
Team Total Training Swimmer of the
Year honors. Josephine is currently
planning to race in the 2005 New
York City Marathon. You can be sure
that her part of the March 15
program will be extremely
inspirational.

Runners, walkers and wheelchair
athletes of all ages and levels of
ability from Bethpage and nearby
communities are cordially invited to
join in the fun at 28th annual
Nationwide Insurance 10 Kilometer
Run for ASPIRE, to be held on
Saturday morning, April 2, 2005.
Long Island's oldest
continuously held 10 Kilometer Run
will be utilizing the same great
course through the roads of
Plainview and Old Bethpage that
has been used in the past, once
again starting and finishing at the
H. B. Mattlin Middle School on
Washington Avenue in Plainview.
The Run will once again be hosted
by the Greater Long Island Running
Club, with GLIRC's Craig Courounis
and Bob Windorf once again serving
as the Co- Directors of the event.
Also back in 2005 as the primary
sponsor of the event is Nationwide
Insurance, with Anthony Wiszowaty
of Nationwide's Wiszowaty Agency
stepping forth once again to help
honor the memory of Stan
Kramberg. The entire net proceeds
of the event are once again being
turned over to the ASPIRE Program
for the rehabilitation of young
amputees, victims of bone cancer
and traumatic amputations, and
ASPIRE's Stanley Kramberg
Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The Runner's Edge and " Trader
Joe's". Mizumo will be back once
again as the official shoe company
sponsor of the event, which means
that the post- Run door prizes will
include several pairs of Mizumo
running shoes to be awarded. The
" ASPIRE Run family" continues to
make this a premiere event!
The Run will continue to provide
awards in age groups through 80
plus. Top Male and female Overall
and top Male and female Masters
take home a pair of Mizumo running
shoes. Every entrant in the 10K
gets one of the classic long sleeve
Run for ASPIRE shirts.
Bethpage athletes have always
played a major role in the Nationwide
Run for ASPIRE, and Run
organizers are hoping for another
big local turnout in 2005. Among the
top finishers in the 2004 edition of
the Run was Bethpage's own Paula
MacCulloch, who scored as the
second place finisher in the
Women's " Athena" Weight Division.
The ASPIRE 10K will once again
serve as Long Island Track & Field's
10 Kilometer Championship Race
for 2005, and will be part of the Long
Island Track & Field Grand Prix of
Long Island Distance Races.
Other great ASPIRE Run
features include free massage and
lots of great door prizes to cap the
post- Run Awards Ceremony!

Butehorn Bros. VFW Post
Has " Ladies Night"
Designed many years ago in
order to give the VFW wives a day
off in the kitchen. All the members
brought their wives to enjoy an
evening together and let the
Veterans cook for them.
The wives of course say " hooray"
to that! The menu this time was
cooked by professionals and they
are a delicious Chinese meal.
A great time was had by all. Sadly,
being the old soldiers are getting
older with each day, it is immediately
noticed that a number of members
are not present. But theshow went
on! The menu was Chinese and the
food was enjoyed by all attendees.
In the last five months Butehorn
Post received about 8 New
members. As old as the members
are you will see them out there with a
color guard for St. Patrick's Day.
Another one of their programs
coming up on March 7th is the
annual VOICE OF DEMOCRACY
finals at the host school, John H.
West. Nine schools are involved,
whose students entered an essay
writing contest at which time the
winners will be given prizes of
money and awards. Many awards are
given to the students by our elected
officials who look forward to this
evening.
All you World War II, Korean war,
Viet Nam and Granada veterans our
post urges you to join our ranks. You
will be doing yourself a favor. We can
guarantee you will find by joining
that you have done the right thing.
We need you to join. The VFW is an
old organization that started in 1899
after the SPANISH AMERICAN
WAR. You will be part of that. Please
get away from all the old reasons you
don't want to join. Just call this

notice that a Special
District Meeting of the
qualified voters of the
Bethpage Union Free
School District will be
held at the Bethpage
Public Library, 47
Powell Avenue,
Bethpage, New York,
on the 11th day of
April, 2005 from 2: 00
P. M. to 8: 00 P. M.
prevailing time, for the
purpose of voting by
voting machine upon
the following
propositions:
1. To consider and
vote upon the Annual
Library Budget and
tax levy for the fiscal
year July 1, 2005
through June 30,
2006, by the following
proposition:

the proposed budget
of expenditures of the
Bethpage Public
Library for the fiscal
year 2005- 2006 in the

be raised by a levy of a

required to nominate
such candidate to the

Trustee. Each
vacancy is a separate

a candidate to each

Building of the
Bethpage School
District on Cherry
Avenue, shall be
signed by at least
twenty- five ( 25)
qualified voters of the
District, and shall state
the name and
residence of the
candidate. Petitions
shall be available at
the Office of the
District Clerk at the
School District
Administrative
Offices, Cherry
Avenue and Stewart
Avenue, Bethpage,
New York. In the
event that any such
nominee shall
withdraw his or her
candidacy prior to the
election, such person
shall not be
considered a
candidate unless a
new petition
nominating such
person in the same
manner and with the
same limitations
applicable to other
candidates is filed with
the District Clerk.
Each petition shall be
filed in the office of
the District Clerk
between the hours of
9: 30 A. M. to 4: 00
P. M. ( excluding
Saturdays and
Sundays), no later
than March 11, 2005.
No person shall be
nominated by petition
for more than one
separate office.
