Belmore Looking Forward to a Fine

The regular meetins of the Repub¬ lican association of the third election district was held in Firemen's Hall Thursday night. A number of re¬ ports showed the organization in ex¬ cellent shape.
It was decided to hold a special meeting Monday next, Augruet 16, for the purpoee of making flnal returns on sale of tickets for the annual out- ting to High Hill Beach. All mem¬ bers are requested to be present at this time.
The boat for High Hill Beach will leave the dock at 9.30 and the march to the dock will start from Firemen's Hall at 9. The committee reports every detail attended to and a good time Is promised and assured to every pne who goes along. District Leader James Moiioy states this will go ahead of any outing held from this section, so It's everybody on their tip toes for a big day.
The submarine pictures held at the Bellmore Theatre before a good sized audience did not come up to expecta¬ tions. They consisted of seven reels with excellent views of under-water subjects, but this kind of entertain¬ ment falls short of what audiences look for for a whole evening's en¬ tertainment.
It is rumored tliat a lunch wagon is to be established shortly on a site near the raliroad station.

Charles VijKJris secured a position in East Newark, going there Monday morning with his brother Jacob who spent the week-end with his father Charlea Vooris, Sr.
Tennis matches on Dr. Holcomb's well laid out courts are a daily fea ture these days. Some exciting games are played. The doctor Is an adept at thj« game.
High Hill Beach excursions are be¬ ginning to be pretty regular. The Bellmore Sunday school and one from Smithville South, also one from East Meadow were booked for this week.
The Bellmore Garage, Merrick road, has taken the agency for the Trum¬ bull car with quite a number of pros¬ pects of buyers. This little fellow comes well recommended and with a reasonable guarantee.
Peter John.son and his son George spent a few days automobillng up- State this week.
The Bellmore Theatre commenced a series of continued picture stories Tuesday night. The title is the "Broken Coin" and each Tuesday there will be a part of the serial shown. As displayed Tuesday It found much favor with a large audience. Friday is "Chaplin" night at this house which means a hig crowd and plenty of laughs.
Apler Landed a Single.
Pitcher Mike nearly made good his threat to niftlly lace the home team Sunday. The rain and a few erroM helped but when the score was tied In the ninth, then in the tenth It was up to Parker Vooris to get around to third and then Apeler landed a slngl which brought Parker to the plate [with the winning run. Eleven in¬ nings Is the thing these days and the crowds are learing to stay 'till the finish. "Biii" Tine is the right man out in the sun fleld and we note an improvement both in the fleld and at the hat In Doty's and Miller's work The rest of the team with an excep- jtion here or there, is commencing to pull up and give a flne game.
Say, fans! Do you know there is a deficit in the treasury and It Is ex¬ pected that those who attend win al least contribute something If It Is only a jitney or two.
