The majority of the summer resi¬ dents of Long Beach have already taken possession of their homes and toelal activity already has begun.
At the Nassau Hotel, recently, a dance was given under the super- Tlsion of Mr. Russel Merritt Page. Tke affair was well attended.
The usual Saturday night ball was ^ven in the violet ballroom of the Naeaau Hotel, the village residents were well represented.
On Sunday morning the Nassau or- ohestra will give a concert in the lobby of the hotel.
At the Brighton Hotel, Under the management of Mr. Kred Klttg, a ball, given last Saturday, was well attended.
Mr. Thomas Healy has converted kis casino into a hotel and restau¬ rant. Forty bachelor suites have keen built and the main dining room enlarged to accomodate one tbousand persons.
LAWRENCE
A special election will be tield to¬ night at the Lawrence High School to Yote on a proposal to erect a school honse at Jeannette street and Wan¬ ser avenue, Inwood, to cost $10.5,- 000. The wooden school house on that site has been condemned as un¬ sanitary by the State Department of Hducatlon. The proposed structure will be of brick.
The Lawrence Garden Club has been organized among cottagers for tke purpose of stimulating interest In the beautifying of local grounds. The club, which will hold its meet¬ ings in the Nassau Industrial School House, wiil award prizes to members
whose yards are kept in the best con¬ dition.

Smith scoutmaster, and Charles A. Hewlett, assistant scoutmaster. During the summer the troop will camp several weeks at Long Beach.

There was a very iarpe attendance and marked appreciation was shown. Two short sketches were presented and several piano and vocal selections rendered.
