St. Christopher's Roman Catholic church will hold a carnival on the ehurch grounds, corner Merrick road and Oayley avenue, from Auguat 19th to 29th, Indluslve. The ladies In charge are: Altar Society table, Mrs. C. 8. Hervey; parish table, Mrs. Mc¬ Donald; refreshment table, Miss Mc¬ Carron.
The Misses Colllson of Belmont Park have been guests at the home of Henry Guenther on the Merrick road.
John S. Lusch, who is spending the summer in Flatbush, spent Saturday and Sunday with friends in town.
On Thursday of last week Mr. Sam¬ uel T. Bourdette was found uncon¬ scious in the barn of Mr. J. A. Schmidt, by whom Mr. Bourdette was employed, with a cut in his forehead. He was attended by Dr. Hutchinson and Dr. Kice and taken to Nassau liospital, where it was found neces¬ sary to remove part of the bone in his forehead. It is supposed that Mr. Bourdette was kicked by a horse. At iast report he was doing nicely.
A very sucessful lawn party was held last Wednesday evening on the lawn of Mr. and Mrs. David Smith of Milburn avenue by the M. P. church. Some of those who participated in the evening's program were: Mrs. Frank Leighton, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Wal¬
ton, the three Leighton brothers, "Vic-, tor Moore, Madame Bettinetti and the Baldwin Ladies' chorus, and the pro¬ gram was a good one.
At the annual school meeting held in the sehooi building Tuesday night, Elbert E. Hawkins defeated Andrew S. Lister for trustee by a vote of 123 to 18.
The Ch,ristian Brotherhood held its monthly social meeting in the M. E. church a week ago last Thursday. There was a good attendance and those present enjoyed a musical pro¬ gram, followed by retreshments.
The Epworth League of the M. E. church held a lawn fete on the church grounds, the lawn being prettily dec¬ orated with Japanese lanterns. An ex¬ cellent program was rendered as fol¬ lows: Instrumental solo. Miss Olive Homan; bass solo, Mr. Lourle; reci¬ tation. Miss Edna Guenther; vocal solo. Miss Mabelle Miller; reading. Miss Bertha Rich; vioUncello solo, Mrs. George Transom; milkmaids' drill, ten girls.
Following the program games and contests were enjoyed as arranged by Miss Ruth Austin, in which all the young people joined heartily. The proceeds of the affair wlll go for the benefit of the Children's Fresh Air Home in Rockville Centre, which Is run by the Brooklyn South District Epworth League.
Mr. George Transon of Thomas avenue was present at the M. E. Sun¬ day school Sunday morning and play¬ ed the viollncello.

The Society of Catholic Women will hold a carnival on their grounds on Gale avenue. The carnival wili be conducted after the manner of the firemen's carnival six years ago. Mrs. C. Hervey wiil have the altar table, and Mre. McDonald the parish table. It wlll commence on August 16 and continue for ten days.

M. E. Church. On Sunday morning in the M. E. church holy communion was partak¬ en of. The evening eervice was in charge of the First Department of the Epworth League. Rev. Warren I. Bowman, the pastor, led the service which was both interesting and at¬ tractive. The evening services dur¬ ing the month of August will be taken care of by the Epworth League and will be held in the chapel.
M. E Church Notes. Three of the offlcers of the M. E. Sunday school attended the Sunday school meeting held in Oceanside Presbyterian church recently, and laatened to the interesting address on "Teacher Training" given by Mies Berg, state superintendent of teacher training.
