His design for a box car flush door has been recognUed by many of the load¬ ing railroad master mechanics as with¬ out an equal.
Deciding to go Into business for him¬ self he has taken up the work of gen¬ eral engineer and contractor, HU work hore In Freeport, at Babylon and at Amityvllle. stands for quality and sat- isfaction given.
Iluring the i)aHt sixty days Mr. Cutlor has finished and Is now at work on several bulkheadit and docks on Ran¬ dall Bay. and adjacent waters near tho South Shore Yacht Club. He Is well equipped for dock and bulkhead con¬ struction and general marine contract¬ ing. Ho Is now having built a lighter with a carrying cai)aclty of thirty tons and wlll bo equipped with self-loading machinery. WUh this vessel added to his prosont facilities. hydraulic pile driver, etc., ho will be in a position to handle quickly the largest as woll as tho smalle.'nt contracts.

The plant nf (he Park L.aundry ('om¬ pany is situated at 121 Prospect streot, .lamaica. Tho building is a niiidern. fireproof structure with plenty of win¬ dow areas and overy modern convoti- ienco. It is two stories In height; and occupies fully half a hlock.
Tho laundry work Is received from tho drivers in separate bundles and minutely ilomlzod. Kach pieco of ma¬ terial has its ownors mark of Identifi¬ cation placed on It If it is not already on. Aftor It is checked up, the work is put in tho largo wash wheels and thoroughly washed In a suds, first of cold water an<l then boiling hot walor. From there it goes to tho rinsers and finally to tho extractors, or wringers as thoy aro pwipularly known. Theso revolve at 1400 revolutions a minute and after an hour are thoroughly dried.

The faot that the City of New York is considering sending two hundred convicts into Rockvllle Centre to work at leveling the famous Milburn reservoir, has aroused two elements there. Some of the townsmen believe two hundred convicts would be less injurious to the village than the d'lt mound, and some lok upon the Inva¬ sion as a gross injustice. True, the great bowl, capable of accommodating a large army In its embrasure, can easily "house" two hundred conviete, and confine them as securely as a prison.
It is believed that more than a year of work will be necessary for th^ re¬ moval of the thousands of heavy stones and the leveling of the em¬ bankment that rises to a heiglit of twenty feet from tlie foot of the reser¬ voir from the outside.
