Capt. Arthur Horn has returned to the village to overhaul and trim up the "Moses Hunt" for the coming fishing and boating season. The "Moses Hunt" is probably one of the hest known and popular of the craft that plys between Bellmore and Hl:Th Hill Beach during the summer.
August Umhauer, probably one of the most expert of machinery in¬ spectors and de'signers, has left for a two weeks.' trip to Sudbury. Ontario, Canada, In the employ of the Hecker- Jones Company, to make an Inspec¬ tion of milling machinery. Mr. Um¬ hauer is a trusted employee, having b^en with the firm for 19 years.

The committee in charge of the collection of funds for the purchase of the chemical engine report tnat they lack but a small amount of the agreed price. The engine which the committee proposes to buy was pre¬ sented to the village of North Roslyn by Clarence Mackay. It Is In flrst¬ class condition and wlll be a much- needed addition to the present ap¬ paratas.

ture of approximately 1300,000, in building an extension of Hicksville road, at Massapequa, over the bay to the ocean side of Jones Beach. The town owns about three thousand acres of land comprising Jones Beach and the coet of the boulevard is to be paid for by selling a portion of this land.
This boulevard will grive direct ac¬ cess to the ocean and it is proposed to establish a flfty acre park along the ocean front, with a boulevard 200 fee wide along the shore at the ocean and Great South Bay. Jones shore Beach is a strip of land about one-half mile wide dividing the bay and the ocean.
As the Hicksville road intersects the Merrick road at Massapequa, the new boulevard will give motorists easy and direct access to the ocean at this point. The roadway will be formed by pumping up sand from the bay and will follow the line of tne islands In the hay from the mainland to the ocean as far as possihie.
The next point east from Massape¬ qua at whlcll the ocean may -be reached direct Is West Hampton Beach, seventy-six miles out.
The trolley line will, be extended to the beaeh over this roadway, which will connect with the trolley system on Long Island, as well as the Long Island Railroad.

As soon as the telephone and liglit companies have finished constructing their lines over the Atlantic avenue causeway, connecting East Rockaway and Oceanside, tne county will finish surfacing the highway, which has been widened and along which ce¬ ment sidewalks have beeen con¬ structed.
This was considered one of the most dangerous highways in the county. The improvement will he welcomed especlallv by motorists.
Frederick Lewis sailed recently for a three-months tour of Italy, France and England.
The marriage of Miss Sarah, daughter of Mr. and Mrs C. H. Schiffmaeher, to William L. Kltchell, of Hempstead, was solemnized at the home of the bride on April 17>. They are at present enjoying a honeymoon in the Southern States.
