HARMONV AT LAWRENCE
Fight Between Regulars and Hwnt Club "Called Off"
Lawrence will hold its village elec tion in mid-June, and Instead of a flgnt between the Rockaway Hunt Club col¬ ony and fhe regular villagers, whicn was urged ty each side for a timo iheie Is now likely ii) be harmony.
Contests over a villa;;e governmeu! ougbt never to be made on so-called class lines. To many a villager a hunt club, or for that mailer any kind of a ciub. Is not important To many a hunt club man the views QF^lie vil¬ lager are of litlle account. These opinions should nol enter into a village elee tion.
In finally deciding to present a com¬ promise ticket to be valid for June 16, the Lawrence Coniinittee h,ns solved the problem wisely. The electors ought to sianri hy the (ompromise.
