At the meeilng of the Second Dis¬ trict of the lifew York State /'edera. tlon of Woman's Clubs held in Rich¬ mond Hill, Wednesday, tbe local clubs were represepted as follows: Tbe Fortnightly Ctab by Mrs. HUlerjt H. It was tbe unanimous opinion ot tbe delegates present tbat thla was one of tbe most interesting meetings ever held In the dietrict During the morning ^bere were inspiring reports from the different clubs, and in the afternoon an excellent program. One of the ^baturea ot the meeting was tbe presentation to Mr*. A. M. Fraser, president of the Health ProtectlTt Association of Brooklyn, of a silver loving cup from the presidents ol the Brooklyn Clubs, in honor of her eigh¬ tieth birthday. A mammoCb bunch of pink carnations was also present¬ ed to Mrs. Fraser. The latest achieve¬ ment of this wonderful woman is the putting through of 4he reduction iu telephone rates for Greater New York. Mrs. Frazer has been working right along with the Public Service Commission, and she read a lettex from the authorltfes stating that her personal letter, had haa more weight In deciding the question than any other influence.

At the regular monthly meeting of the Library Auxiliary the following business was transacted: the libra¬ rian reported sixteen new boolis add¬ ed .during the past month, eleven from auxiliary funds and three from the pay Gollection.
The chairman of the entertainment committee reported that the contem¬ plated exhibit of antiques bad bee., postponed until fall.
The librarian reported on the Cur¬ rent Events letter file, that after a month's trial it was found to be too fragmentary.
The chairman of entertainment was put In charge of the luncheon arrange¬ ments for the delegates to Ihe li¬ brarian's institute to be held at the library May 20.
A motion was made and carrlea that Mrs. Spelman's project of in¬ stalling a moving picture machine in the public school be endorsed by the Library Auxiliary. ^

At the Church of the Ascension last Tuesday night the' Right Rev. Freder¬ ick Burgess, Bishop of the Diocese, administered the apostolic rite of the laying on -of hands to a class of twen- ty-.six, mostly adults, and preached a most helpful sermon. This is the largest confirmation class in thb his¬ tory of this parish. The church was erowded at this serlvce, the choli singing for an offertory anthem "As Pants the Heart" with Charles L. Day and Alfred W. Young ,V, soloists.
