PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE TO THE QUALIFIED
VOTERS AND OWNERS OF REAL
PROPERTY OF THE TOWN OF
OYSTER BAY, NASSAU COUNTY,
NEW YORK.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following is a true copy
of a resolution duly adopted and ordered to be published by the
Town Board of the Town of Oyster Bay at its regular meeting on
the 25th day of July, 1967, at Town Hall, Oyster Bay, New York,
the said resolution provides for the conveyances of real properly
by the Town of Oyster Bay and is subject, in accordance with the
Town Law of the State of New York, to a permissive referendum:
RESOLUTION # 1373 - 1967
Meeting of July 25, 1967
WHEREAS, the Town of Oyster Bay deems it advantageous
and in the public interest to establish an adequate cul de sac
at the southerly end of Beach Road at Massapequa, Town of Oyster
Bay, Nassau County, New York substantially as shown on
" Map Line Biltmore Shores Section No. 1 as Shown on Map Prepared
by S. B. Bowne 8/ 11/ 65" marked Exhibit " 1 " and to be filed
herewith; and
WHEREAS, in order to construct such cul de sac, it will be
necessary for the Town of Oyster Bay to acquire certain real
property situated at the southerly end of Beach Road and east
thereof and designated Parcel " C" on " Map of Biltmore Shore,
Section No. 1, Massapequa, N. Y." prepared by Town of Oyster
Bay, Nassau County, N. Y., dated July 18, 1967 entitled " Land
Exchange Map" and bearing drawing number 1211 marked Exhibit
" 2 " and to be filed herewith; said Parcel " C " comprises
2259 square feet and is more particularly bounded and described
on a sheet marked Exhibit " 3 " and to be, filed herewith; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Oyster Bay further deems it advantageous
and in the public interest to acquire the following drainage
and working easements: ( 1) a permanent drainage easement
running 100 feet easterly from a point on the easterly side of
Beach Road distant 2,390.33 feet southerly from the southerly
side of Canal Road and being 10 feet in width; ( 2) a working easement
adjoining said drainage easement on the south thereof;
( 3) a permanent drainage easement running 100 feet easterly
from a point on the easterly side of Beach Road distant 2,525.33
feet southerly from the southerly side of Canal Road and being
10 feet in width; ( 4) a working easement adjoining said last mentioned
drainage easement on the south thereof ( said easement
( 1), ( 2), ( 3), and ( 4) are shown on Exhibit " 2 " mentioned herein);
( 5) a permanent drainage easement at Amityville, Town of Oyster
Bay, Nassau County, New York running 81.66 feet easterly from a
point on the easterly side of Bayview Avenue distant 613.00 feet
southerly from the southerly side of Prospect Street and being
10.02 feet in width; and ( 6) a working easement adjoining said
last mentioned drainage easement on the north thereof; said
easements ( 5) and ( 6) are shown on " Map of Deauville Beach
Lot 57- 59 incl & p / o 60, 56, Amityville, New York" and description
sheet attached thereto and both marked Exhibit " 4 " and to
be filed herewith; and
WHEREAS, William D. Corrado and Florence Corrado, his wife,
are the repited owners of the aforementioned Parcel " C " and of
the lands over which the Town of Oyster Bay deems it advantageous
and in the public interest to acquire the aforementioned
easements and also of certain other lands east of Beach Road a-butting
on the western boundary of certain tidal lands which
front on the Grand Canal; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Oyster Bay is the owner of said tidal
lands which form an irregular parcel comprising 5308 square
feet which are inadequate for beach development and which parcel
is designated Parcel " B " on Exhibit " 2 " ; and the Town of Oyster
Bay is also the owner of certain real property abutting
Beach Road on the east and adjoining a part of the aforementioned
other lands of Corrado and comprising 714 square feet and designated
Parcel " A" on Exhibit " 2 " ; and
WHEREAS, said William D. Corrado and Florence Corrado,
his wife, ( referred to in the immediately preceding paragraph
as Corrado) are desirous of acquiring said parcels " A" and " B "
for the purpose of dividing their aforementioned certain other
lands east of Beach Road abutting the western boundary of the
said tidal lands into three building plots which shall be developed
only in accordance with the provisions and requirements of
" D" Residence District without variance as indicated on Exhibit
" 2 " and have offered to grant to the Town of Oyster Bay said
Parcel " C" and the aforesaid three permanent drainage easements
and to further pay to the Town, in cash, the difference
between the total of the appraised values of said Parcels " A"
and " B" and the total of the appraised values of said Parcel
" C " and the said six easements, the said difference being the
amount of $ 3,000.00, in exchange for the grant to them by the
Town of Parcels " A" and " B " ; and they have further offered
to pay the amount of $ 200.00 in full settlement of any damages
*- the original to cul de sac for which the Town may allege them
to be responsible; and
WHEREAS, the values of said Parcels " A", and " B " , and " C "
and the aforementioned easements have been ascertained by an
independent appraiser as follows:

Park Gets Five
Car Train
Salisbury Park in East Meadow
went into the transit business
this week.
Starting yesterday, a five- car
park train towed by a tractor
resembling a locomotive will
leave irregularly, from the Historical
Museum, and arrive, also
irregularly, at the tennis courts.
The train, which relies on the
engineer's desires rather than
rails, can accommodate up to
50 youngsters. It will be in
operation daily between 10 a. m.
and 6 p. m.
The train will make a circular
two- mile round trip. A one way
trip of one mile involves six
to seven minutes in travel time
and costs ten cents.
The new train is not expected
to cut into the revenues of the
New York Transit System or the
Long Island Rail Road.

Simmons, U. S. M. C., son of Mr.
and Mrs. John Simmons of Troy,
New York, at St. Rose of Lima
Church.
The bride is a 1963 graduate
of Massapequa High School and
a 1967 graduate of Cortland College
where" she received her
B. A. in Elementary English. The
groom graduated from Cortland
where he received his B. A. in
Sociology.
A reception followed the
wedding at the La Grange Inn,
Babylon. The couple honeymooned
at Cape Cod and will
live in Glyncoe, Georgia where
the groom is stationed.
Due to developments in the
Bi- Partisan agreement on
Nassau County Charter Revision,
the public hearing
scheduled for Aug. 3rd has
been cancelled.
A panoramic view of the botanical gardens surrounding the main
lagoon and teahouse at Planting Fields. The walkway approaching
the lagoon makes up part of the Arboretum's extensive network of
paths and trails bordered by lush horticultural displays, which
attract visitors throughout most of the year.

WHERE/ S, the Town of Oyster Bay deems it advantageous
and in the best interest of the Town to accept the aforesaid offer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a copy of each of
the aforementioned Exhibits marked " 1 " , " 2 " , " 3 " and " 4 "
be filed in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Oyster Bay
and that the same be and hereby are made part hereof by reference;
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town of Oyster Bay enter into
an agreement with William D. Corrado and Florence Corrado,
his wife, or either of them, or any other person or persons who
may be the owners of the affected lands for the transfer to them by
the Town of Parcels " A" and " B " in exchange for the transfer
to the Town of Parcel " C " , the three permanent drainage easements
and three working easements together with the payment to
the Town, in cash, of the difference between the total appraised
values of Parcels " A" and " B " and the total appraised values
of Parcel " C" and the aforementioned six easements, said
difference being the amount of $ 3,000.00 and in addition the payment
to the Town of the amount of $ 200.00 in contribution for
any damages which may have been caused to the original cul de
sac; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that, upon the approval as to form by
the Town Attorney, the Supervisor of the Town be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to duly execute all the proper and
necessary papers and the instruments and to perform all the
necessary, proper and required acts, for and on behalf of the
Town of Oyster Bay, for the purpose of duly effectuating the transfers,
exchanges and payments herein mentioned; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that, in accordance with
the Town Law of the State of New York which makes the conveyances
mentioned herein subject to a permissive referendum, the
Town Clerk of the Town of Oyster Bay give public notice to the
qualified voters and real property owners in the Town of Oyster
Bay, by causing this resolution to be published at least one
time in the Massapequa Post and the Massapequa Observer
newspapers published in the Town of Oyster Bay, and said Massapequa
Post and Massapequa Observer are hereby designated as
the official newspapers of the Town for the purposes of effecting
the publication hereinabove provided for or required to be made.
The foregoing resolution was declared adopted after a poll of
the members of the Board; the vote being recorded as follows:
