during recent ceremonies in Korea. '
Presenting the insignia and congratulations is Colonel Francis
M. McCullar, aviation officer for the Eighth U. S0 Army.
Spec. Minai is an administrative clerk in the Aviation Section,
Headquarters, Eighth U. S. Army. He entered the Army in October
1966 and was stationed at Ft. Jackson, S. C , before arriving overseas
in April 1967.
N e w ORT G r o u p To Meet
The newly formed Mid- Island
Chapter of Women's American
ORT will hold its first general
meeting of the season on Tuesday,
September 12 at 8: 30 p. m. at
the meeting room of County Line
Bowl, Farmingdale.
The business portion of the
evening will be an open discussion
on the Middle- East crisis.
The meeting will be open to all
husbands so that they will be
able to enjoy the entertainment of

They will undergo training at

Hold Meeting
A meeting of the Columbiettes
of the Farmingdale Council of
the Knights of Columbus # 2204
will be held on Thursday, September
7 at the Council Home,
Morton Street at Garrity Place,
Farmingdale.
Maston M. Jacks, a former
newsman and Air Force information
officer, has joined the public
relations staff of Fairchildsllill-e
r ' s Republic Aviation Division.
Jacks, 50, is an experienced
journalist who was a general assignment
reporter and rewrite
man for the San Francisco Examiner,
associate editor for Sunset
Magazine, also in San Francisco,
and assistant editor for
Popular Mechanics Magazine in
Chicago. He was also on the editorial
staff of the Tucson Daily
Citizen and Arizona Daily Star.
He recently retired as a Lt.
Colonel from the United States
Air Force where he was Chief
of Public Information Operations,
Office of the Secretary of
the Air Force, the Pentagon. Before
assuming these duties he
served in the Strategic Air Command's
Office of Information as
chief of the Plans and Production
Division.
In 1939 he graduated from the
University of Arkansas with a
bachelor of arts degree in Journalism
and during World War II
served as a press officer with
the Army Air Coprs. During the
Korean War he was recalled to
active duty and remained in the
Air Force until his retirement
last month.
