Board to make every effort to
reduce spending during the coming
year and pointed to a number
of areas where criticism must
be levelled. He also reiterated
his position against holding budget
hearings after election because
public interest decreases
sharply in a post- elective period.
Petito said he was voting in
favor of the $ 10,311,000 Budget
in light of the fact diat the Board
had adopted almost all of die
reforms and proposals he had
suggested several months ago.
While approving die Budget for
die coming year, the Supervisor
pointed out several areas where
review is necessary, to maintain
a stabilized spending program..
He stated that tiiere was a drastic
over- estimate of revenues from
incineration which amounted to
$ 150,000 and that another $ 25,000
had been overestimated in Beach
revenues.
Petito also told the Board that'
$ 138,000 listed as revenue in die
reimbursement of administrative

pointed to the present year in
which $ 66,000 was spent from
diat fund by September 30th.
He also said diat some $ 25,000

some $ 400,000 in the upcoming

expenditures are curtailed.
Petito stated: r* I hope to set
a course of moderation in our
spending for die coming year.
Current tax rates will hold die

cost of living is of serious concern
