Narcotics Display Trailer
To Pay Visit Here
The Nassau County Police Departments'
Narcotics Display
Trailer will come to Farming-dale
on Saturday, June 24 from
10 a. m. to 6 p. m. on die Soudi
side of Conklin Street, east of
Main Street.
The trailer is fitted with displays
and posters designed to inform
the public of the dangers of
drug abuse. Policemen staffing
the trailer will answer questions
and advise individuals seeking additional
information on drug abuse
and cure facilities. Persons visiting
die unit will also be given
literature describing the problem.
Since January 9, more than
18,600 visitors went through the
unit.

Two new members of the Women's
Club of Farmingdale were
introduced at the annual picnic
held in the garden of Mrs. Erling
Lunde. They were: Mrs. Bor-rasso
and Mrs. Adele Hess.

Howitt Students Attend Junior
Historical Convention

Howitt Junior Historical Society
joined 4,000 junior historians
who attended the 21st annual convention
of Yorker Clubs held in
Syracuse recently.
One of the highlights of the
meeting were some 62 exhibits
representing industries and life
in New York State. The projects
included everything from making
maple sugar to a project devoted
to covered bridges. 7th, 8th, and
9th grade clubs entered this competition.
Harold H. Fogg ( right) of Farmingdale, Associate Professor of
Accounting of Hofstra University, was honored by his colleagues
on the Hofstra School of Business faculty by the establishment of
a pocket- size park adjacent to the School on the Hempstead
campus. Dr. Harold L. Wattel offers his congratulations. Fogg
has served on Hofstra's business faculty for 20 years, and has
devoted considerable time to volunteer academic coaching of
students in addition to his classroom teaching. A plaque erected
in the park says: " Harold Fogg Corner/ Established widi Affection/
by Professor Fogg's Colleagues/ in the School of Business/

FJC To Install
Officials
The annual installation of officers
of the Farmingdale Jewish
Center, will take place this Saturday
evening, at 9 p. m., at the
Center.
The program will include installation
of the officers of Men's
Club, Sisterhood, Couples Club
as well as the Congregational
officers. Assemblyman Martin
Ginsberg will serve as the Installing
Officer.
Incoming Presidents of the

Baptist Church To Hold
Summer Supervised Activites
The Farmingdale Baptist
Church, Carman Road, South
Farmingdale will hold supervised
activities for young people
ages four to 16 during the week
of June 26 to 30 from 9 a. m.
until noon each day.
The youngsters will be divided
into age groups and the varied
activities will include music,
storytelling, recreation and arts
and crafts. The teen- age group
will go one several field trips
during the week. Everyone in
this age group is invited regardless
of church affiliation.
There will be no charge for these
activities.
Registration day will be held
on Saturday afternoon, June 24
from 2 to 3: 30 p. m., although
pre- registration is not required.
Parents night will be held on
Friday, June 30 at 8 p. m. widi
a display of handwork done during
the week.

Crestwood Project Gets OK
Work on the improvement of
Crestwood Boulevard, South
Farmingdale, which has been delayed
pending resolution of engineering
and legal problems,
is now underway and is scheduled
for completion in about three
months, according to Councilman
Frank J. Hynes.
The project will be done by
the low bidder, J. C. P. Contracting
Corporation of Free-port
at a cost of $ 147,021. The
work includes storm water
drainage, curbs, soil- cement
base and resurfacing. The project
will extend from the Southern
State Parkway to Main Street.
Cadettes Plan Canada Trip
Cadette Troop 347 of Farmingdale
will leave for a five day
trip to Canada on Monday, June
26.
The group will make overnight
stops at White River Junction,
Vermont and will men visit Quebec
with a visit to the Shrine of
St. Anne De Beaupre. A visit
to Expo 67 at Montreal will conclude
the trip.
The troop, which has recently
concluded a fund raising drive,
meets weekly at St. Thomas Undercroft.

Math Competition
The winner of die intra- school
Math League competition at Mill
Lane Junior High School was
Steven Schuster who was awarded
a book, a pin, and a certificate.
Richard Frey and Robert Axel-rod
finished second and third
respectively, and were awarded
pins, certificates, and emblems
for their efforts. The other
winners who received certificates
