Spotlight on the Nassau County's Cantiague Park
From Go Go dances to a performance of Iolanthe; from tennis
to puppet shows; from swim meets to drama for youngsters
are but a few of the- diversified special events and programs
which are being offered at Cantiague Park, Hicksyille this
summer.
The park, located off West John street in Hicksville, was
opened to the public in 1965. It contains a swimming pool
complex consisting of a diving pool, Olympic size pool, instructional
and wading pools. The park also has playgrounds
for the yungsters, a senior citizens Friendship Corner, a
nine hole golf course and driving range, court games and picnic
areas.
The artificial ice rink building is used for roller hockey
leagues during the summer.
Special events include dramatic presentations, discotheque
dances a folk singers festival, water ballet shows and three
different puppet shows.
Nurmerous instructional programs in swimming, archery and
tennis are also offered and, for those who like to plan ahead,
a football clinic will start on Saturday, September 28.
Cantiague Park has something for every age, taste and ability.
