Considers Growth Plan

The Route 110 Improvement
and Planning Association announced
that it is currently holding
meetings to consider a five
year growth plan for the Route
110 area, encompassing the
Farmingdale and Melville communities.
In making the announcement
the Association noted that it is
concerned with the announced
feasibility study to be conducted
by the State Department of Highways
regarding the rebuilding of
Route 110 as a possible limited
access expressway.
The Association is composed of
representatives of the major industrial
plants and businesses in
the greater Route 110 area and
has commissioned a special task
force to meet with Government
representatives and to gather information
to aid in the planning
for, growth and development of
the Route 110 industrial and commercial
complex.

of Trustees of the Village of
Farmingdale, in the County of
Nassau, New York, adopted the
bond and capital note resolution
entitled:

maximum cost thereof,
including said additional appropriation
is $ 65,000, and authorizing
the issuance of $ 1,000
capital notes to provide the required

an abstract of such resolution,
concisely stating the purpose and
effect
thereof, being as follows:
FIRST: APPROPRIATING the
amount of $ 20,000 in addition to
the amount of $ 45,000 heretofore
duly appropriated pursuant to the
resolution duly adopted by the
Board of Trustees of said Village
on September 11, 1967, for
the original improvement and
embellishment of the c e r t a in
piece or parcel of land situate
on the east side of Main Street
and adjacent to and southerly of
the Village Hall, in said Village,
heretofore acquired and now owned
by said Village, for the use
as a Village park and recreation
area; STATING the estimated
maximum cost of said specific
object or purpose, including said
additional appropriation and preliminary
costs and costs incidental
thereto and the financing
thereof, is $ 65,000 and the plan
of financing includes the issuance
of $ 42,750 heretofore authorized,
the expenditure of $ 2,250current
funds heretofore appropriated,
the issuance of $ 1,000 capital
notes herein authorized to provide
the required down payment
in connection with the additional
amount herein appropriated, the
issuance of $ 19,000 serial bonds
to finance the balance of said
additional appropriation and the
levy of a tax upon all the taxable
real property in the Village
to pay the principal of the
notes and bonds and the interest
thereon; the Village has applied
to the United States of America
for a grant of Federal funds,
to aid in financing the cost of said
specific object or purpose;
AUTHORIZING any such amount
received to be expended towards
the cost or redemption of said
notes and bonds issued therefor
or to be budgeted as an offset
to said taxes for the payment of
the principal of and interest on
said notes and bonds;
SECOND: AUTHORIZING the
issuance of $ 1,000 capital iKrtes
and $ 19,000 serial bonds of the
Village to finance said additional
appropriation;
THIRD: DETERMINING AND
STATING the estimated total cost
of originally improving and embellishing
said park and recreation
area, including said additional
appropriation, is $ 65,000;
the period of probable usefulness
of said specific object or purpose,
is ten ( 10) years, and the proposed
maturity of the bonds will
exceed five ( 5) years; that current
funds are required to be
provided prior to the issuance of
said bonds and any bond anticipation
notes and said current funds
will be provided from the proceeds
of $ 1,000 capital notes
and AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
the Village Treasurer to
set aside said current funds and
apply them solely to the financing
of the cost of said specific
object or purpose;
FOURTH: DETERMINING that
said notes and bonds and any
notes issued in anticipation of
said bonds shall be general obligations
of the Village and
PLEDGING to their payment the
faith and credit of the Village;
FIFTH: DELEGATING to the
Village Treasurer the powers
and duties as to issuance of said
notes and bonds, and any bond
anticipation notes, including renewals
thereof; and
SIXTH: PROVIDING that said
bond and capital note resolution
shall take effect thirty ( 30) days
after its adoption unless within
thirty ( 30) days a petition shall
be filed in accordance with A r-ticle
5- A of the Village Law, protesting
against the resolution and
requesting it be submitted to the
electors for their approval or
disapproval.

PROMISE THE VOTERS OF THE 9th ASSEMBLY
DISTRICT TO DO THE FOLLOWING IF I HAVE THE
PRIVILEGE OF SERVING IN ALBANY.
A - To devote all my energies toward school tax
relief without a loss in the quality of our education.
B - Immediate and substantive improvement in the
Long Island Railroad service.
C - Necessary amendments in the Taylor Act to avoid
possible future strikes in the Public Schools of our
area while simultaneously dealing with the Teachers'
Unions in a fair and just manner.
D - Improving the quality and amount of Hospital
service in our area. Specifically, to push for one
new, voluntary, non- profit hospital in Southeast
Nassau to be run by a Board of Trustees selected from
community leaders.
E - To represent my area as sensitive and concerned
representative interested in the State of New York
with a view to aiding all the people of our State not
as a narrow sectional representative.
F - Establish a working liaison with all community
groups so that they may advise me of their problems,
and conversely I may approach them for necessary
assistance when public support is needed in a
vital area.
G - To do my best, to serve this community without
serving special interest groups, or expecting any payment
or private gain from my position,
