Two automobiles were reported
stolen from Parking
Fields this past week.
Gregory Stern, of New Hope,
Pennsylvania, reported the loss
of a 1960 Chevrolet sedan from
Parking Field # 2.
Walter Oelerick, of 118 Plitt
Avenue, South Farmingdale, r e ported
the loss of a 1963 Chevrolet
sedan from Parking Field
# 3 in the village.

amount bid, payable to the Town
of Oyster Bay as assurance that

as soon as the bids have been
opened and checked. Upon approval
of the Purchase Order
by the Comptroller or within
48 hours thereafter, the remaining
unsuccessful bidder's checks
will be returned. The check of

until either a performance

proposal) or delivery & acceptance
of the material has been acknowledged,
as evidenced by approval
of a claim for payment
in full by Department Head.
Each check must be identified
by bid item number whenever
more than one check is furnished

right to reject any or all bids

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN,
that the Board of Trustees of
the Village of Farmingdale, N. Y.
held a public hearing at the
Village Hall, 361 Main Street,
Farmingdale, N. Y. on the 21st
day of October, 1968, at 8: 30
P. M. for the purpose of considering
the following amendments
to the Zoning Ordinance
of the Village of Farmingdale By
Adding thereto a new Article to
be known as Article XV ( a) to
read as follows:
Section 1. A new district to be
known as a Business " G " District
is hereby established comprising
such premises as may from time
to time be so designated by the
Board of Trustees of the Inc. Village
of Farmingdale in accordance
with a comprehensive plan
duly adopted pursuant to the provisions
of Article 6 A of the Village
of Farmingdale.
Section 2. Permitted uses. In
a Business " G " District no building
or premises shall be used
and no building shall be erected
or altered for other than one or
more of the following specified
uses:
1. Commercial or professional
office building, medical center,
club, fraternity house or lodge;
single family deteched dwelling
including the office, studio or
occupational rooms of a doctor,
dentist, architect, engineer, attorney
or other professional person,
and musical or dance instructor
when located in the same
dwelling in which such professional
person or instructor
resides.
2. The following uses when
approved by the Board of Trustees
of the Village of Farming-dale
as a special exception after
a public hearing. On all applications
to the Board of Trustees
for the uses hereinafter enumerated,
the requirements imposed
by the provisions of Section
124 and 125 of this ordinance
shall be applicable. Each
applicant for such special permit
use at the time of filing
such application shall pay to the
Clerk of the Village of Farming-dale
a fee of $ 50.00 which fee
shall be in addition to the fee
for the building permit otherwise
prescribed by this Ordinance.
( a) Nursing home.
( b) Undertaking establishment.
( c) Veterinarian hospital, provided
no outside runs shall be
permitted.
3. Churches or similar places
of worship, parish houses, convents,
schools, non- profit educational
institutions, either public
or private, financial institutions,
telephone or telegraph offices,
libraries, photographic and
art studios.
4. Other uses which in the
opinion of the Board of Trustees
after public hearing meet the
standards set forth in Section
124 of this Ordinance and of the
same general character as those
listed as permitted in this district.
5. No goods or merchandise
may be displayed out of doors.
Section 6T Height. No building
shall exceed two stories in height.
Section 7. Building area. The
Building area shall not exceed
fifty per cent of the lot area.
Section 8. Side yards. There
shall be two side yards, one on
each side of- the main building
extending the full depth of the lot.
One side yard shall have a minimum
width of 20 feet and the r e maining
side yard a minimum
width of 6 feet. The Board of
Trustees shall have the power
to designate, which of the side
yards shall be 20 feet and which
shall be 6 feet.
Section 9. Rear yard. There
shall be a required rear yard
of not less than 25 feet in depth.
Section 10. Front yard. There
shall be a required front yard
which shall be not less than 35
feet in depth.
Section 11. Lot area. No building
shall be erected upon a lot
that has a street frontage and
minimum lot width at the front
and rear wall of the principal
building of less than 100 feet and
a lot area of less than 15,000
square feet.
Section 12. All areas which
shall be used for parking pursuant
to the requirements of this
Article shall be surfaced with
asphalt wearing course over a
stone base or a similar type
of pavement approved by the
Board of Trustees. All drainage
shall be on site drainage and
shall not be discharged into
adjoining property or into any
public highway. No parking shall
be permitted within 6 feet of any
property line abutting or
premises used for residential
purposes at the time that a permit
is issued.
Section 13. The Board of
Trustees as a condition of the
issuance of a building permit,
shall require that the front yard
area, exclusive of access walks
and driveway and shrub area,
be sodded or grass planted, and
may require planting strips of
suitable width with evergreen
shrubs, hedges or other suitable
planting material as may be approved
by the Board of Trustees
on all exterior sides of rear and
side yard areas which abut resi-dentially
zoned property, and
may, in addition, require that
a fence be erected upon the
property line abutting any resi-dentially
zoned property of suitable
height and construction to
separate the building use conducted
thereon from any adjoining
residential uses. Such grass or
sodded area and planting area
and fence shall be suitably maintained
at the expense of the owner
of the premises located in the
Business " G" District and a
failure to so maintain the same
shall be deemed a violation of this
ordinance and of the Certificate
of Occupancy issued therefor.
Section 14. All exterior lighting
shall be so designed that the
rays or beams therefrom shall
not be directed toward the adjoining
residential areas.
Section 15. The Board of Trustees
in making any determination
which it shall be permitted or
required to make under the applicable
provisions of this Article,
shall seek to minimize
the interference by the business
uses herein permitted with the
residential uses of any adjoining
property located in a residential
zone and the intrusion into such
residential zone of persons or
vehicles using such business
premises and disturbances
caused by lighting, noise, odors
or otherwise therefrom.
Section 16. Parking. A suitable
parking space shall be constructed
and maintained on the
premises which shall contain an
area of one square foot of paved
area for each square foot of
gross floor area. In computing
floor area, the floor area of any
second floor shall be included
in the computation. The provisions
of Article XIA shall apply
to such parking, except as hereinabove
set forth.
All citizens and persons in interest
will be given the opportunity
to be heard with respect
to this proposed amendment to
the Zoning Ordinance.
