NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
. that pursuant to the resolution
of the Board of Education adopted
January 3, 1968, a Special
• District Meeting of the qualified
• voters of Union Free School
District No. 22 of the Towns of
Oyster Bay, Nassau County, and
Babylon, Suffolk County, New
York, will be held in the gymnasium
of the Weldon E. Howitt
Junior High School Building, Van
Cott and Grant Avenues, Farmingdale,
New York, in" said
School District, oiT~ FEBRUARY
10, 1968, at 6: 45 o'clock A. M.
( EJS. T.) for the purpose of voting
upon the Proposition stated below.
The voting will be by ballot
on voting machines as provided
by the Education Law and the polls
will remain open from 7: 00
• o'clock A. M. ( EJS. T.) until 10: 00
o'clock P. M. ( E. S. T.) and as much
longer as may be necessary to
enable the voters then present to
cast their ballots;.
PROPOSITION
RESOLVED:
( a) That the Board of Education
of Union Free School District No.
22 of the Towns of Oyster Bay,
Nassau County, and Babylon, Suffolk
County, New York ( herein
called " District") is hereby authorized
to expend an amount not
to exceed $ 988,000 in addition to
the amount of $ 4,470,000 heretofore
authorized to be expended
pursuant to subdivision 2. of
paragraph ( a) of the Proposition
approved by the qualified voters
at the Special District Meeting
held on November 19, 1966, for
the construction of additions and
alterations to the existing
Senior High School Building at
the southwest corner of the intersection
of Intervale Avenue and
Lincoln Street, in Farmingdale,
in the District, and to purchase
the original furnishings, equipment,
machinery and apparatus
required for the purposes for
which said additions and said
Building as altered are to be
used, the estimated maximum
cost thereof, including said additional
expenditure and preliminary
costs and costs incidental
thereto and the financing
thereof, being $ 5,458,000, and a
tax in the amount of not to exceed
$ 988,000 is hereby voted for said
additional expenditure to be
levied by installments in such
years and in such amounts as
may be determined by said
Board of Education; and ( b) in
anticipation of said tax, bonds
of the District are hereby authorized
to be issued in the
principal amount of not to exceed
$ 988,000 and a tax is hereby voted
to pay the interest on the said
bonds as the same shall become
due and payable.

NOTICE that the Board of Registration
of this School District
shall meet on:
Saturday, February 3, 1968
from 10: 00 o clock A. M.
( E. S. T.) until 10: 00 o'clock
P. M. ( E. S. T.)
in the gymnasium of the Weldon
E. Howitt Junior High School
Building, Van Cott and Grant
Avenues, Farmingdale, New
York, in said District, for the
purpose of preparing a Register
of the qualified voters of the
District for said Special District
Meeting, at which time any person
shall be entitled to have his/ her
name placed upon such Register
provided that at such meeting
of the Board of Registration,
he/ she is known or proven to
the satisfaction of such Board
of Registration to be then or
thereafter entitled to vote at the
Special District Meeting for
which such Register is prepared.
The Register of the qualifed
voters of said District prepared
at the last Annual District Meeting
and Election held on May 2
and 3, 1967, and the Register
prepared for the Special District
Meeting held on June 10, 1967
and August 29, 1967, shall be
used by said Board of Registration
as the basis for the
preparation of the Register for
said Special District Meeting.
Any person whose name appears
on such Register or who shall
have been previously registered
for any Annual or Special District
Meeting or Election and who
shall have voted at any Annual
or Special District Meeting or
Election held or conducted at any
time within two ( 2) years prior
to the preparation of the Register
for this Special District Meeting
will not be required to register
personally for this Special
District Meeting.
No person will be entitled to
vote at such Special District
Meeting whose name does not
appear on the Register of the
School District so prepared for
the Special District Meeting.
Immediately upon its completion,
said Register shall be
filed in the Office of the District
Clerk where it shall be open
for inspection by a qualified
voter of the District between
the hours of 9: 00 o'clock A. M.
and 3: 30 P. M. on each day there-

Queens Ave., Massapequa, is taking
part in " Operation Yellowstone"
in Vietnam with the 25th
Infantry Division.

Captain Robert E. Gallo, United
States Air Force tactical
fighter pilot from Farmingdale,
supported allied troops during
recent ground fighting in Vietnam.
Captain Gallo, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert E. Gallo of 65 Nelson
St., Farmingdale, and his
wingman flew an F - 100 Super
Sabre fighter - bomber strike
to provide close air support for
ground operations.
The jet fighter pilots knocked
out 25 structures and ripped up
rows of enemy trenches while
over the battle zone.
Captain Gallo is assigned to
Tuy Hoa Air Base, 230 miles
northeast of Saigon. He is a
member of the 31st Tactical
Fighter Wing.
A 1959 graduate of W. E. Howitt
High School, the captain received
his B. S. degree in 1962
from Parks College of St. Louis
University, East St. Louis,
Illinois, where he was commissioned
through the Air Force
Reserve Officers TrainingCorps
program.
His wife, Frances is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Oelschlager of 7 Fourth St.,
Farmingdale.
Marine Corporal John W. Ami-don,
son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Ami-don
of 4A Manchester Drive,
Massapequa, has reported for
duty with Headquarters Company,

air station is search and r e s cue
in the Hawaiian Central Pacific
area. The unit also provides
aerial tactical support for
the many other Coast Guard units
located throughout the Pacific.
His duties include flight as a
co- pilot in the four- engined, turbo-
prop " Hercules" and the
twin- engined amphibian Grumman
" Albatross" type aircraft
and an additional duty as navigation
officer.
A graduate of Adelphi University,
