Maass Retires As
Security Chairman
Herman II. Maass, of Massapequa,
Chairman ofthe Board
and Chief Executive Officer of
Security National Bank of Lorn*
Island, retired from the bank
post this week.
Maass' years as Chairman of
the Board from 1961 to 1968 saw
Security National grow from
$ 236,000,000 in assets and 28
branches in 1961 to nearly $ 700,-
000,000 in assets and 50 branches
in 1968.
Maass, who was appointed
Chairman Emeritus, will continue
as a member of the Board
of Directors and as a special
consultant for Security National
Bank.
Library Offers Film Showing Of
The Making Of A President'
A film, " The Making of the
President: 1960," based on Theodore
H. White's book of the
same title, will be shown at the
air- conditioned Bar Harbour
Building of the Massapequa Public
Library, Massapequa Park, on
Friday, July 12. The film which
is 78 minutes long, will begin at
8: 30 p. m.

Increase In
Bank Earnings
Long Island Trust Company
reported net operating earnings
for the six month ending June
30, 1968 of $ 976,721 compared
with $ 795,800 for the same period
in 1967, an increase of 22.7%,
according to Frederick Hainfeld
Jr., president. This'was equivalent
to $ 1.34 per share in 1968
compared with $ 1.09 per share
in 1967 based on 729,346 shares
now outstanding. Per share figures
for 1967 were adjusted to
reflect the 10% stock dividend
paid on April 22, 1968.
Deposits on June 30,1968 were
$ 225,176,803 and total resources
were $ 249,282,722 compared with
deposits of $ 203,853,131 and total
resources of $ 225,387,148 ayear
earlier. Capital funds on June
30, 1968 totaled $ 15,407,887 compared
with $ 14,740,980 for the
same period in 1967.

SEALED PROPOSALS must be
received and stamped by the Director
of Purchasing of the Town
of Oyster Bay, at his office located
at Town Hall, Oyster Bay,
N. Y., not later than 11: 00 A. M.,
prevailing time on Wednesday,
July 10, 1968 following whichtime
they will be publicly opened and
read and the Contract started as
soon thereafter as practicable
for: Dredging at The Heading,
Bay Beach, Tobay Contract No.
DB- 68- 108. The Information for
Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of
Bid Bond, Form of Contract,
Specifications and Plans may be
obtained on and after June 27,
1968, at the Office of the Town
Clerk, Town Hall, Oyster Bay,
New York, during regular business
hours, 9: 00 A. M. to 4: 45
P. M., Monday through Friday,
and copies thereof may be obtained
upon payment of Twenty-
Five Dollars ($ 25.00) for each
set. Any bidder, other than the
successful bidder in all contracts,
upon returning such set promptly
and in good condition, within 30
days after the date of receiving
bids, will be refunded his payment
and any non- bidder, upon so r e turning
such set, will be refunded
the sum of Fifteen Dollars,
($ 15.00).
Each bid must be accompanied
by a certified check or acceptable
bid bond in the amount of
not less than five per centum
( 5%) of the bid and made payable
to the Town of Oyster Bay.
The Town Board reserves the
right to reject any or all bids
in whole or in part, to waive any
informality in any or all bids
and to accept the bid or part
thereof which it deems most favorable
to the Town after all bids
have been examined and checked.
No bid shall be with drawn for
a period of 45 days after being
publicly opened and read.
In the event bids are rejected,
or no bids are received, the Town
Clerk is authorized to re- advertise
for bids upon direction of
the Town Board.
Attention of bidders is particularly
called to the requirement ( A)
to comply with all the provisions
of the Labor Laws of the State of
New York, ( B) a Public Liability
and Property Damage Insurance
Policy and Performance and Labor"
and Material Bonds will be
required to be furnished, as set
forth in the Instruction to Bidders
and/ or the Contract Form,
and ( C) the Non- Collusive Bidding
Certification must be signed prior
to the submission of a bid.

purpose for which said Town is
not authorized to expend money,
or if the provisions of law which
should have been complied with
as of the date of publication of
this notice were not substantially
complied with, and an action, suit
or proceeding contesting such
validity is commenced within

BOND RESOLUTION- DATED
JUNE 25, 1968.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
THE ISSUANCE OF$ 7,-
000 SERIAL BONDS OF THE
TOWN OF OYSTER BAY, NASSAU
COUNTY, NEW YORK,
TO PAY THE COST OF
DREDGING ATTOBAY BEACH
BAY IN SAID TOWN.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town
Board of the Town of Oyster Bay,
Nassau County, New York, as
follows:
Section 1. The specific object
or purpose to be financed
pursuant to this resolution is
the dredging at Tobay Beach
Bay in the Town of Oyster Bay,
Nassau County, New York.
Section 2. The maximum estimated
cost of such object or
purpose is $ 7,000 and the plan
for the financing thereof is by
the issuance of $ 7,000 serial
bonds of said Town, hereby authorized
to be issued pursuant
to the Local Finance Law.
Section 3. It is hereby determined
that the period of probable
usefulness of the aforesaid object
or purpose is five years,
pursuant to subdivision 22 ( c)
of paragraph a of Section 11.00
of the Local Finance Law. It is
hereby further determined that
die maximum maturity of die serial
bonds herein authorized will
not exceed five years.
Section 4. The faim and credit
of said Town of Oyster Bay,
Nassau County, New York, are
hereby irrevocably pledged for
the payment of the principal of
and interest on such bonds as
die same respectively become
due and payable. An annual appropriation
shall be made in
each year sufficient to pay die
principal of and interest on such
bonds becoming due and payable
in such year. There shall annually
be levied on all die taxable
real property of said Town a
tax sufficient to pay die principal
of and interest on such bonds
as die same become due and
payable.
Section 5. Subject to the provisions
of the Local Finance Law,
die power to audiorize die issuance
of and to sell bond anticipation
notes in anticipation of die
issuance and sale of die serial
bonds herein aumorized, including
renewals of such notes,
is hereby delegated to die Supervisor,
die chief fiscal officer.
Such notes shall be of such terms,
form and contents, and shall be
sold in such manner, as may be
prescribed by said Supervisor,
consistent witii die provisions
of die Local Finance Law.
Section 6. The validity of such
bonds may be contested only if:
1) Such bonds are aumorized
for an object or purpose for
which said Town is not authorized
to expend money, or
2) The provisions of law which
should be complied with at die
date of publication of this r e solution
are not substantially
complied with,
and an action, suit or proceeding
contesting such validity is
commenced witiiin twenty days
after the date of such publication,
or
3) Such bonds are aumorized
in violation of die provisions
of die Constitution.
Section 7. This resolution,
which takes effect immediately,
shall be published in full in
