The first Boeing 747 super jet wing control surfaces to be manufactured
by Fairchild Hiller's Republic Aviation Division were
shipped this week to the Boeing plant in Everett, Washington. The
shipment, consisting of ailerons and spoilers, left Republic's plant
in one of a number of special freight cars which will be used to
transport the assemblies. The two 28- foot- long ailerons that were
shipped to Boeing are shown in the photograph being loaded into the
car. Besides the ailerons and spoilers, Republic is manufacturing
all other moving parts of the 747' s wing. The remaining wing control
surfaces for the first aircraft are scheduled to be delivered
to Boeing by mid- July, to be mated to the wings prior to the 747
rollout this Fall.

sincere and massive practice of
this divine principle. Surely, we
as citizens of this community
must let good triumph over evil,
justice over injustices of many
kinds, and reason over anger.
We must exhibit a deep faith in
the possibilities of human beings
as we allow ourselves to be coworkers
with God.'
Rabbi Teicher went on to
add that there are two moral
issues involved. " First, thebus-ing
issue is a red herring, a totally
irrelevant scare thrown in
as a political smokescreen. Intelligent
people realize that manufactured
issues are usually produced
by those who lack legitimate
platforms." " Second, I
think we all seriously must question
the motives of people and
groups that are anonymous. We
wonder, ' What do they have to
hide?' Why must people wait * tfl
the last minute to run openly for
office? Why must we get unsigned
literature? What is it they
hide? Let us consider the people
and the real issues calmly, and
not rant and rave," he concluded.
