CHRlSnAN SCIENCE "THE RELIGION OF FULnLLMENT'

RoekvUle Centre, June «.—In a lect¬ ure before the congregation at th* Flmt Church of Chrlet. SolenU.t, yenterday. Judge 8amuel W. Greene, C. 8., of lA>ul8Vllle, Ky-, npoke on the subj.n: "Christian Science, The Re¬ ligion of rulflllment of the Board of Ijecturenhlp, The Mother Church. The Flret Church Of Chrlet, Science, in Boston, Maae. The lecturer nald In part: "What the world Is wantlng^ls seek¬ ing—I. a religion that Cornea to the •Ick and tells them how to be well; tbat comes to the discouraged and des- IMndent and lifts them out of thp nlough of despair and despond Into the rich¬ ness. Into tbe Joy, of a close walk tvlth Ood. Christian Science supplies this need, through 'the spiritual Interpreta¬ tion of the Bible, and the consequent spiritual understanding of Oo<I; and enables the world to find the rest and the peace that are promised by the Master.
Christian Science comes teaching In the very words of JeHus of oli tbat tha kingdom of Qod, the king¬ dom of Heaven, Is at hand—Is here, la now, within us, around uo, and about us. Through the pratlce and understanding of this teaching of Jesus, men and women In constantly Increasing numbers are healing of all manner of sickness and sin, and their lives are made brighter, better and more satisfying. The theory that eter¬ nal life and happiness are to be had beyond the grave only, has always been a depressing element In religion. Christian Science ahows that men do not have to wait for death or a final Judgment day, before realizing and ex¬ periencing the Joy of the fulfillment of God's promises.
Christian Science In Its healing min¬ istry la not a patent cure-all, aor Is it blind faith cure. It Is not the action of the human mind. On the contrary, It teaches that the human mind must yield to the divine Mind, to that mind which was also In Christ Jesus. In proportion that Christian Science Is understood, the life and words of Christ Jesus become practicable for ill ages and all people.
Ignoring, however, the persecution, the lack of sympathy and Intereat manifested by the world In her dis¬ covery during the early years, Mrs. Bddy never wavered in her task, but patientlly and earnevttVy -studied the Bible, that she might find the positive rule for the solution of this problem of Mind-healing which had been so graciously and wionderfully revealed to her through her own Instantaneous healing from what the doctors had pro¬ nounced an Incurable physical condi¬ tion. The result of her studies she has since given to the world In the Christian Science text book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scripture," oommonly called Science and Hcdlth, which was published In 1875.
In Science and Health, page 123, we read "Divine Science, rising above physical theories, excludes matter, resolves things Into thought, and re¬ places, the objects of material sense with spiritual Ideas."
I^et us try this plan In our de¬ struction of evil. We may begin on the members of the household by seeing them as thoughts; thoughts of Ood, expressions of His goodness and His love, existing to bless the home and all mankind. Contrariwise, let us not see them aa selfish. Impatient, Intolerani, and all such evil thoughts or beliefs will be banished from the home. Then horhe will become the abiding placo of love, goodness and harmony. ¦

AN ENJOYABLE L I. TOUR FOR THE AUTOMOBILIST
Motorists can spend a delightful week-end at the Hamptons, where there are excellent hotel accommoda¬ tions. Both the large, highclass hotels and the smaller country Infis provide superior service. A number of drives can be taken on good road.<i skirting along the shore of the bays and Inlets, pa.sslng estates with palatial residencea and well-kept lawns.
The trip down to the extreme end of Montauk Point is very interesting. Tbe road is in fair condition and passes through the quaint fishing vil¬ lage of Montauk to the lighthouse reservation at the extreme end of tbe Island. There ia a good hotel in.the little vlliage of Montauk where lunch can be obtained, Au excellent circular trip can be made frotn Southampton by going north to Ndrth Sea then east through Rose Orover Noyack and Sag Hafbor to Easthampton.
A pleasant holiday can be spent at Greenport, where a trip down to Orient Point and back offers interest¬ ing possibilities. In fact an entire week of continuous motoring would not exhaust the attractive places or the flne roads in a radius of flfty miles from any point on the eastern end of Long Itland. .
