Y.W.CAPLAYlirS WELL PRESBTTED ATFR^RTCLUB
Freeport. May 21.—The four plays given by the girls of the W.Y. C. A. at the Freeport Club were delightful Mts of pantomime, pathos, and humor. They were exoeedingly well done.
The coaching of Mrs. E. T. Cheshire. .Miss Haifffat, Mrs. Kleinsrhmldt and Miss, Margaret Johnson l>ore the best possible resitlts, coupled an it was with the ^lent ot the girls.
"<mt Fear," a Japanese pantomime, was the age-old tale of two lovers fighting for the same girl, in this case the petite Wonate San. The wooers engaged in deadly combat for her lovi>. She prevents further bloodshed hy throwing the terrorising block cat in the faces of the duelists, and "the fight is over.
Tho "Conspirators" waa a very amusing scene in a girls' hoarding Hchool where ail the little maids wished to go to a party but the tarty old Miss I»rim of a schoolma'am shook her ringlets and reiterated a positive "no."
One of the schoolgirls masquerades as another Old Fuss and is about to Kef away with it when the dweption is discovered, hut the girls get to tho liorty anyway. «• This playlet was very much enjoyed.
"Food," was all over an egg, where a young wife would leave her happy home and husband, ail for the lure of an egg. Abe Raphael, the only male In the whole cast, carrying oft thf male honors of the bill, really deserviHl the applause given him.
"Tho Maker of Dreams" was thf pretty tale of love that dwelt In a house unknown, until pointed out by the kindly Samaritan known as thi' Maker of Dreams.
Every member of tho various castii showed tho result of hard, persistent work. The girls In the last playlet were especially good.
During intermissions the high school orchestra played well.
The Club House was well filled for
the event and il was tlio consonsUK|
of opinion that tho Y. W. C. A. do!
served most hearty congratulsitions, |

THE SALT IN THE SEA i
The saline matter in the ocean Is BufBclent to make a block of salt meas-1 uring 4,800,000 cubic miles. If spread j over the entire surface o fthe United ; States, exclusive of Alaska, It would j form a crust more than a mile and a lialf deep. One per cent of the con¬ tent" of .salt in the ocean would covt-r ull the land areas of the glob4> to .i depth of 290 foot.
