Ritual Committee reported that they would like

the committee, a.nu. that the Chairman appoint committee

be appointen by the Commander to wait on the Village
Board, requesting them to rename some streets in
the honor of all of the boys of this village who
died in the World War. The Commander appointed
Buddies K~denburg, Schloss and Young.
Motion made, seconded and carried that a letter
be sent to the Board of Education, requesting one
night a week be set aside for this post to use the
gymnasium in the new high school when same is completed.
Motion made, seconded and carried that the sum
of $10.00 be given to the Athletic Committee for
basket ball uniforms.
Motion ffiade and seconded that letter be sent to
State Headquarters, requesting right of this post
to express a minority opinion on any question
in connection with Legion affairs. By vote of
Post, motion tabled.

Commander Cruickshank called the meeting to
order and presided, a quorum being present.

Himmel reported for the Entertaimnent Committee.
Asked that radio books be turned in as soon as
possible; time extended to Monday night, August
4th. Reported Second Annual outing to be held at
Charlie Johnson's on Saturday, August 2nd, 1924.
Also reported arrangements for three shows, to be
held in October, January and March next.
Building Comn1ittee reported progresa. Has arranged
for dinner to be held at Elk' s Club House,
Freeport, on Wednesday evening, July 9th, fifty
~e representatives of Freeport invited. All post
members urged to be present, tickets $2.50 each.
Also asked for volunteers to olean up the yard on
Saturday next •
Membership Committee reported 235 paid-up
members to date.
Welfare Committee reported donation of cigarettes
from Spartan Club, of Freeport, for Kings
Park.
Convention Committee reported efforts to obtain

Building Committee reported regarding dinner held at
Elks Club stating that about 25 citizens were present
and between $1000.00 and $1500.00 was raised toward
Building Fund also that citizens committee had been
appointed and would continue a silent drive for funds
and wind up with a bazar.
Entertainment Committee reported regarding outing to
Charlie Johnson's on Aug2nd and also requested all
radio books be returned promptly and requested that
that next notice have this request incorporated there
in.
Convention Committee eeported progress stating that
the Odd Fellows Hall had been acquired for same fQr
sum of $20. 00.

Convention, two of which delegates were from
Freeport , to wit, John Cruickshank and Wal lace J.

adopted. The County Organization having run two
affairs which did not net sufficient to pay the
expenses of the delegate s to the State and· Nationa.l
Conventions, the convention voted to assess each

Meeting of the William Clinton Story Post, No.
342, American Legion, held at the Odd Fellows Hall,
on MerrickRoad, Freeport, N. Y., on Friday evening,
December 21st, 1924. Commander Cruickshank preaided.
Minutes o:f the previous meeting were approved
as rea.<1.
Treasurer reported about $80.00 in the treasury.
Bill :from FUlton & Son, for camp chairs, amounting
to $53.50 was ordered paid.
Entertainment Committee reported progress.
Building Committee reported option had been taken
on site for club house.
House Committee requested authority· to rent two
rooms in the Shirley Building, at the rental of
$45.00 a month, for ·dug-out. After lengthy discussion,
motion made and seconded that the matter
be laid on the table. In favor 13; opposed 13.
Due to tie vote, Commander cast favorable ballot.
Therefore motion carried.
Welfare Committee reported that trip would be
made t? Kings Park on December 23rd, at 12.30 P.M.
Nominations for County Committeemen for the year
1924 were then aeclared in order, and the following
